I played the gamebey version of Kid Icarus and it was a good game imo. I wasn't all goo goo over though. When this game does come out though I believe it will be a must have, and I will buy it more than likely.
Wow I never knew Halo had a chance on the DS. That would've been cool. As for Kid Icarus, I'm not that interested. I wasn't even born when Kid Icarus came out. He is pretty good in SSBB but I don't know about a whole game surrounding Pit.

I was born in 1993 and I'm 14 and enjoy a lot of the c.lassics by Nintendo. It doesn't matter when you were born to enjoy a game.
and if you keep reading, itll say that there will be a halo on DS. thats just stupid!! why waste their time on the DS and put it on the wii. that will get way more people interested.
It will be sweet to have a new Kid Icarus game, but to be honest i prefer a new Star Fox, or a new Earthbound, hell maybe a new Kirby over Kid Icarus.

Probably because the games you are referring to are franchises that are well-established. Since Kid Icarus was in 1987, who knows what the game will be like now.......
When I heared Reggie say "The gamer is going to be excited and the expanded audience is going to be excite" I knew it was going to be Donkey Kong, Star Fox, or Kid Icarus. This hasn't been officially announced by Nintendo. I would like to see some screen shots. If its true I am excited.

If you actually heard the podcast you would know the article is really stretching it. Though he did say something was up.
I think I may be dissappointed with the game they release if it does release. I reallly really want a darker toned story with heavy mythology in it kinda like God War but without the unnecessary sex scenes and the violence does not need to be that crazy.
I dont want it to be light hearted i want to see Nintendo do something new, which is what they USED to be praised for. A more adult Pit would be fitting where you fly over Acient Greek areas. Usually saving a town from monsters of course.

They were in melee, the latter being a trophy. Sakurai planned for retro characters to be in Smash since the 64 version, Pit was even planned for the 64 version too.

ya thats a great point....but....you never know. Oh, I'm not doubting it. I'm just saying, Cassmassina is only speculating, that article is a bit wrong for saying that he confirmed it. But Kid Icarus isn't a bad game to bring back. I'm all up for Nintendo ressurecting all their old series.

If he actually knew this "information" and told the public, not only would he lose his job, but his wife would also lose her job. I doubt he's dumb enough to jeoprodize their jobs for something like that.
i bought the first one on VC..horrible. im not sure about you guys but i abslutely hated. i havent touched it ever since. a waste in points in my opinion
i would be very suprised if they didn't make a new kkid icarus game. i mean, to put him in ssbb? it was really random and shocking. so they should make one because of his appearance in ssbb.
I didn't really like the demo for VC on Brawl, but thats not enough to tell. Even though I was hoping for a new Donkey Kong game, Kid Icarus will be a must have.
They dont know, they're guessing based of off what IGN has said. I have no doubt that it will come out, but who knows what the games announced at E3 will be?
They said that the possibilities existed and that the fans were sure about it coming in 2008, but you know that fans can be wrong. So, there is no proof, just speculation. It is still a rumor then.
This story is far from proof, though I do believe a new Kid Icarus game is coming. The original is one of my favourite NES games (despite it's unforgiving difficulty), so I'm quite interested to see how a new one will turn out. I guess we'll know more come E3.
Actually, we won't know if his prediction / rumor / inside info is false until the end of '08. Matt predicted that by the end of '08 Nintendo will release a new Kid Icarus game. If it is announced at E3 or some time in '08 with enough time to come out for the holiday season then it's not false. If it is set to release for the holiday season and is delayed until the first or second quarter I would still give him credit for the "you heard it here first".
Well, I guess since Pit has already got a lot of publicity since he arived in Brawl, why not? I haven't played Kid Icarus yet, but I plan to download it on Virtual Console if I like the demo in Brawl.
I think it is exciting actually. It isn't every day you see a 2D conscept going 3D. Most of the 2D series from nintendo went 3D when N64 came (Mario and Zelda did it perfectly). 3D could be much of the same, or rather diferent. It seems like an interesting idea. I might buy it, but only if there is few other games coming at that time. Gaming really hurts my wallet.
