I cant find a wii anywhere and was woundering whens the last time u have seen a wii in a store or know someone who bought one.It seems that now nintendo just ships them without even telling the stores:( so im out of luck and brawls only 8 days away:?
ive never seen a wii in any stores except the small radio shack that i go to in my small town, i just walked in and bought it, it was like 4 in the afternoon, no lines or crazy people, just a wii, sitting there waiting for my purchase....there really are some great benifits to small towns, as lame as they are.
in my local Virgin megastore they have them back in stock quite regularly, and they advertise it witha big sign. but they always get sold pretty quickly :P
I live in Grand Rapids, MI and the people I know around here don't seem to have trouble finding them. I know a couple people who were buying them right before christmas and a few more who have gotten them since.
I'd have to say your best bet would be to call around (Gamestops, Best Buys, etc.) and find out when they're getting their next shipments in. That way you'll know when you'll have the best chance of grabbing one.
I wouldve thought that this would have affected their sales cause if more wiis were in stores they would sell so much more....or maybe them being so rare makes ppl want them more....
i saw two of them sitting in a cisco electronics store, not sure if that store is nationwide, but its in my local mall.
Anyway, this was ON Christmas Eve!!! And two of them were just sitting there!! But once they put the sign WII IN STOCK outside the store, it was a mad rush to the cashier...
i used to work at gamestop, and we usually got are shipments around 11-2 o clock, so i would say call them in that time range everyday, and they usually get shipments of wiis once every two weeks, it might start to be more because nintendo knows alot of wiis will sell baecause of smash
i got lucky and asked a guy at gamestop if they had any wiis like right after christmas and he looked under the counter and was like 'uhh.... yep! we have 1 left' and i was all like 'SKIDDLY-DOO!'
Now that I think of it... Since the launch of Wii in 2006, I have NEVER actually physically seen a Wii for sale on store shelves. My dad managed to get ahold of the Wii I have, but I wasn't with him at the time.
I rarely see Wii in stock except at the Canadian department store Zellers (it's like target or wal-mart.) The main reason I see it there is because Zellers is usually empty especially if it's in the same mall as a Wal-Mart. Zellers is pretty expensive for a "low-price" department store as for example, greatest hits ps2 titles are still like $29.99 when all other retailers are selling them for $19.99.
it was a few days after christmas and i decided to get a wii for christmas. i called all the stores nearby and none of them had the wii. then i called a the walmart that is 5 minutes away from my house again and they said that they were getting a shipment at 11am. my mom comes home at 3pm. i was afraid that i wasnt going to get a wii. when my mom came home i told her that there was some wiis at walmart. i then called walmart and they had 3 wiis left. 15 minutes later we got at walmart we go to the wiis and there was only 1 left. and then there was a guy that came 2 minutes later and said "hey that was what i was going to get." i feel like the luckiest gamer ever. if i got there 2 minutes late i wouldnt have a wii right now.
I saw a couple of them in january at a target here in town... it kind of took me by surprise so I stoped and looked for a sec. I literally got pushed out the way by some other people going crazy that there were wiis.
I've never seen a Wii anywhere. I looked for one for a month after launch before I finally got lucky and bought a bundle from Buy.com. The bundle kinda sucked, but it did come with Trauma Center, which was good.
I've personally never seen one in a store, ever, but I do know that they aren't sold out in Texas. The town of Sugarland, Texas is where my firend lives and he says they have a lot at a time.
This morning at Circuit City i saw dozens and dozens of them. No big crowds waiting either. It was steady sales, but i could have picked one up easily, if i wanted one.
I saw the staff at a Wal-Mart here in Canada actually stocking their shelves after a shipment in early 2007. They had received 12 Wiis at that time. However by the time I left about 30 minutes later I think they were down to 4. When I spoke to a manager at EB games recently he said that he still hasn't had his store close for the day with any Wiis left in stock.
I got my Wii on ebay, for 350. Worth it, because of Brawl!!!!!
anyways, the last time i saw a Wii was in November, 2007, one left in Best Buy. (I had mine already, so I didn't kill anybody for it.) i went away for 5 minutes tops to look for Pre-orders for 360 games and went back, passed by the Wii section, and it was gone!
I see them alot here in VT, I was thinking about getting one with the money i got back from taxes. the prices online are all jacked up with crap i dont want.
You got to have a hook up. My cousin works at Target and he picked one up right when the shipment got in back when they were first comin out. I also got his discount so it costed like 215.
