its right under one of the palm trees. SO just dig under one of the palm trees close to where the lines cross.

Hi this is my first post, I finish playing LOZ and I like the game.

I was thinking that this game could be done in real life Treasure Hunt game, I feel that there is something in this game that could be a phenomena ,I am not talking about the game but the ideaof hunting fot treasure in real life. I bowl to all of those Japanese that work for Nintendo, I believe they use there inner conscious to make this game.

When you buy the ships parts and find them, it's all random. So more or less, having good luck. Should try to trade them through the guy on Murcray Island or whatever. :D

Haha, oh wow. [Spoilers: Temple of Wind] I just reached the end of the temple, the map room, where you get a picture of the map flipped upside down. I missed what my fairy said, so I was in trouble. Took me a while to get what it meant by pressing the sacred crest together, after a few minutes I saw the pattern and was like "Aha! Must close the DS!" Very clever, Nintendo.

Yeah that was a tricky one because usually when you close your ds it turns off and goes into sleep mode. Just another innovative thing Nintendo put into this game.

hey there everyone, i live in the uk and got zelda on the day it came out (on friday), finished it on sunday after around 11-13 hours playing, but that may be coz ive finished basically every zelda game except for the second one. gotta say its an amazing game as you'd expect. the thing that really shows is the level design, its, as usual, absolutely perfect. as for some of my favourite puzzles, yes that one where you close your DS was great, but i loved the one with the uncharted island in the northwest- spoilers- where you have to draw the island as a whale to solve the riddle, it wasnt too hard, but i couldnt help but feel amazingly satisfied with myself after doing it (coz i got it straight away!). as for other impressions of the game, sorry people, but i didnt really like the temple of the ocean king, its not really coz of the timer, just the whole thing- yes it was good, but in some part it was annoying and let the game down slightly. i reckon ive done most of what there is to do- ive gotten loads of ship parts (including some golden ones =)), probably all the treasure charts, and alot of spirit gems. ( havent gotten all the spirit gems but i dont really plan on going looking for them)

Can anyone tell me how the heck to get to the north-easternmost part of Mercay Island? Thanks in advance.

And also, if it really is possible to trade parts, I need the red wheel. It's the only red one I don't have.

This is the best game for DS period. It gets a 10/10, one of my favorite games, and second favorite Zelda after Twilight Princess. Considering how hard it is to make an amazing game on a handheld, it must be considered perfect.

I agree it's the best DS game by far, but it's not hard at all. Atleast to a veteran of the zelda world.

there should be a wall that you bomb, you want to get to that little island to the east right? you'll get there latter in the game you'll need bombs, and i think another item.

Go talk to the mermaid at the seafayer's place, then go to east sea chart, there'll be a second boat now, go to that. talk to the seafayer there, talk to him again after you finish talking to him, you'll give him the wooden heart i forget what he gives you

i wrote a review on phantom hourglass displaying what i honestly thought of it.

http://uk.gamespot.com/ds/adventure/thelegendofzeldads/player_review.html?id=508614

i believe most reviewers are lowering its score down for the flaws it DOES have, but what they arent doing, is really thinking about it. yes, the touch-screen can SOMETIMES be niggly, yes- the temple of the ocean king isnt too great (though now ive gotten through with a great time i seem to like it more lol), and YES- the game is more linear and easy than usual (though you should be able to completely understand that as its a handheld game supposed to be more accessible). BUT, reviewers giving it a 9 and below dont seem to see the whole package for what it is, and its a DS GAME. the epic sense of scope is something unlike any other on the patform, it uses the innovations intuitively, the graphics are superb, and the musical score unrivaled on the DS. dont just look at the flaws, but see the whole thing for what it is. the problem is, when phantom hourglass is compared with some DS games that some reviewers have rated higher then it- the others just pale in comparison. o i dont think its the best zelda ever, or even in the top three to be honest, but its a damn great game.

^addressed to all those reviewers giving itlow scores (1up gave it an 8, as did gametap, and play magazine- to name a few. thats not funny.)

Hey, guys. I'mback with another question. On the tablet near the stone head of Mercay Island, it says, "A cliffside not so far from here has a weak spot. Shine a light parallel between the Temple and Mercay tavern." What the heck does that mean?

i reviewed it too, and gave it a 9.0.

9's not bad seeing as it really is streamlined. but still comparing it to other ds games getting 9's is blows them away. in all honesty, my proper score would be around 92%-94%, but obviously gamespot doesnt let you do that anymore (just out of interest, i did a review on wind waker and gave it 96%). really when you just stop and look at the whole package- , the genius dungeons (though they may be linear, they are still genius), the epic scope (for a DS GAME!), the great musical score, the jaw-dropping graphics (for a DS game), its hard to give it less than a 9. their may be flaws, but they are made up for. i guess im going on another rant, but i mean- nintendo-world-report gave it 75%...

EDIT: to the guy who posted above me: ts pretty simple really, draw a line in your map between the pub and the temple of the ocean king, and set the beam of light from that stone head thing in the same direction (northwest if i remember correctly), when shining there, you'll know where to bomb.

yeah like nintendogs! lol, i think that was given a 9.1 because it was some new and innovative to show the potential of ds. But it hasnt really stood the test of time.

ok

  • pull up your map, make a line from temple to tavern
  • Go to beam statue, hit it a rotate the statue so the beam is parallel to the line you drew
  • go over to the wall where the beam hits and plant a bomb
  • passage opens up and your able to go to the NE isle.

[QUOTE="EndorusBolero"]Hey, guys. I'mback with another question. On the tablet near the stone head of Mercay Island, it says, "A cliffside not so far from here has a weak spot. Shine a light parallel between the Temple and Mercay tavern." What the heck does that mean?Minishdriveby

ok

  • pull up your map, make a line from temple to tavern
  • Go to beam statue, hit it a rotate the statue so the beam is parallel to the line you drew
  • go over to the wall where the beam hits and plant a bomb
  • passage opens up and your able to go to the NE isle.

i did say so in the edit of one ofmy previous posts :x lol but thats ok, it actually a pretty simple puzzle, and i hope we helped endorusbolero. as ive said, my favorite puzzle in the game was probably the uncharted whale island one, not even that hard, but still amazing.

oh, and minishdriveby, your gonna need kingdedede on your sig

I know this is going to sound like a silly question, because I believe that I know what to do, I just can't seem to do it. I'm in the temple of courage on the 2nd floor, right past a bunch of octorocks (Spelling?). I'm on a set of sliding blocks, on the souther part of the room, the first and third blocks go east and west and the middle block goes north to south. There are two eyes in the northern part of the room that I "Believe" I am supposed to shoot to get a treasure chest to appear. However, when I am on the blocks in the souther part of the room, I cannot see the eye icons to shoot them, which basically means that I have to aim blindly to shoot them and I seem to always miss them (I've never seen them turn red, when I know I've shot them).

What am I missing. Every guide I have looked at just says "Shoot the eyes" as if they had no problem, but I cannot seem to do this. Any ideas on where I might be going wrong?
