I think that you're supposed to finish a game and move on
That's why they keep on making new games
Replayability only goes so far. There's only so many times a person can wash, rinse, repeat.
Gaming is an expensive habit, if you really want to get everything you want out of it you need to be willing to pick up new titles all the time.

True, true. You do have to move on to newer games, that's why they make new entries in series. But it would be better if the game have good replay value to save money; i mean most games these day aren't even 5 hours long! (even more amazing since LostWinds, great game btw, is nearly about the same scale while it is only 10 bucks -.-) It just goes to show how cheap developers are becoming these days.

Ehhh I don't know, I got over 30 hours of gaming in Final Fantasy from the WiiWare service and that was 29 bucks.
I spent two weeks playing Spider Man Friend or Foe in between other titles. If I didn't it would have been over in under ten hours maybe?
I don't want a lot of games that I have to spend forever on. There's too many other games coming up. I don't pay money for the length of games I pay them for their entertainment value. I can have great fun with a 50 dollar game that only lasts 5 hours and never finish a 20 dollar one that's got 30 hours.
There's just too many game options these days to be bogged down with one title.

Just asking, but what do you do with short, yet awesome games when you are done with them? So far, I kept them to show off my collection :) But i dunt know if i should trade them in :(

It all depends on the person I guess.
For me short games can be replayed sometimes. Even down to just replaying a level that was your favorite.
Longer games are great but they don't have that "Oh I just want to play this one level" feel to them that often. It's more like you take it all in then you either leave it forever or you take it all in again.
I can't count the number of times I beat Zelda: OoT and Earthbound, two games that aren't exactly short. If a game is really good, sometimes you'll want to play through the game a 2nd, 3rd or 10th time.
A game like Brawl is a special case since it's about the multiplayer, not the single player experience. I'm sure Mario Galaxy will see the light of day yet again... Hell I'm on my way to beating Metroid Prime for the 2nd or 3rd time now.
For me the most important factor is how fun it is. If a game is really fun, then I'll most likely replay it a couple times. Take Super Metroid. I still run through that game every now and then.
I think game play is much more important than replay value. Take Lostwinds, for example. It's a very short game, but the game play is outstanding. I'll take that over high graphics, long story, but drab game play any day.
