I'm looking forward to this forum being unbearable as the worst title Nintendo ever created is released.

You can't be talking about Brawl....you must be making some sort of ironic comment or talking about another game that Nintendo has made that I'm not aware of, cause you can't be talking about Brawl.....

Nope that's the one.
I think it does more to hurt Nintendo then it does to help it.
I'll be buying it myself but I've said many times that it's the equivalent of junk food in gaming form.
So yeah, more of those threads around here which will make it more difficult to have discussions about anything else.

Can I ask why you think it is the equivalent of junk food?

Can you elaborate the analogy to junk food please. I don't get it. Cuz Brawl is actually a game with lots of polish and quality. I do agree it's being talk about too much through.m_machine024
You two most certainly may know why I think if it as junk food.
It's because it doesn't have much substance compared to Nintendo's other titles this generation
Mario = Platforming to exceptionally unheard of levels
Metroid = Controls and exploring (most people also liked the story)
Zelda = Adventuring (mind you also that it's a Gamecube port so it's lower on the list)
Smash is a very good and polished game for what it is. It's a button masher with some quicktime mashes mixed in.
It's not a fighter in the terms of what fighters are this generation. It's not technical. It lives up to it's namesake which is a brawl. These aren't fighters that have a clue about fighting they're two muckity mucks who kinda just flail at each other.
I understand it's a polished title but it still has the content. You can polish up a cheeZy soap opera or add high production value to America Idol and you still end up with schlock
OK I'll continue this later but I have to run but I at least wanted to explain my stance and I'm sure I'll be doing it later too lol
[Toilet Flushing] Listen, it's the sound of Jaysonguy's credibility.ozzsoad
Your a little late, that happened months ago.
Jaysonguy, what the hell happened to you. I remember when you weren't such an attention seeker.

SSE mixes a little of all of those together (not controls, maybe story)

A button masher? If you fought anyone that was good at the game, its going to take more than repeatly pressing buttons... a lot more. And with the introduction of Wi-Fi, you are going to meet a lot of skilled players.

Who cares if they are muckity mucks? Capcom didnt care if they added muckity mucks to Marvel vs. Capcom and thats why I liked it so much.

So it has content but no substance? Can you explain that sentence a little better?

I know everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, and the Smash Bros. series isn't for everyone, but I seriously find his replies more and more annoying. It's like he starts threads and posts just so someone will disagree with him. At first, when I recognized the user and his replies, he kind of seemed like an intelligent poster, but now it's just like he's attempting to be a smart...butt.
I mean, not calling Brawl a fighter is ridiculous, because it is. It even started it's own genre of party-fighting games. And I believe saying the game is not technical is a mistake as there are many fans who can reach a lot of depth with the characters and the fighting system. Just because a game only uses a couple of buttons doesn't mean it's shallow.
Also, I don't agree with the "These aren't fighters that have a clue about fighting..." comment he made. Maybe the fighter's in their own franchises don't fight hand-to-hand, but when they are in brawl, they're all professional butt whoopers. You can probably figure out how I feel about him comparing the games to junk food, so I won't go into that (in a way, can't ALL games be compared to junk food? Save that one for another debate).
Anyway, Brawl is just a game, like the Marios, Metroids, and Zeldas, so it's not like I'm going to get heated over his opinions. Still, Jaysonguy's credibility with me just sunk even lower than it already was; I'm starting to look upon his posts as troll responses than something I'd actually want to read and take info from.
Oh, and to m_machine024, thanks for the congrats! Haven't got the job yet, but I'm crossing my fingers, and getting it would be a great step in the right direction for my plans to eventually get a job in game design (level designer, specifically).

You shouldn't waste your money on the "worst title Nintendo ever created". Unless you actually do have some sort of interest in it and just trying to get attention off this forum..
You're right, Smash Bros. isn't like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, or any other Nintendo franchise - yet alone other fighting games. It's not supposed to be what it's not. It's a game that offers different things, and these things people go crazy for. If there were no variety in the gaming world and everything was supposed to be similar to one another, things would be incredibly boring and I'm sure gaming would have been a thing of the 90s by now.
The hype over SSBB is from the fans, and even many outsiders, and this hype isn't coming from advertising campaigns that Halo 3 used for most of its hype. That says a lot for the "worst title Nintendo ever created".
Jeez, if Smash Bros. isn't exactly your cup of tea, then it's not your cup of tea. Does that mean it's bad? No. You're only stating your opinion, but trying to make it sound like a true statement.
