I can't seem to able to play online, I always get 006-0612 error code. Both Internet and friend list works just fine, I can't seem to figure out what's the problem. Is anybody else having the same issues?

Don't worry I'm having it too, and I know its a pretty widespread problem right now. Not huge, but not too small.

I'm going to go into my router settings later and try to set the 3DS with a static ip address and set it outside my DMZ settings, or something like that.

I've only gotten into one match and I've probably tried 30 times.

I had the same problem too. What I did was assign a static IP to the 3DS, port forward the IP on my router and turn off the firewall on my modem. Now the game works flawlessly online.

I've had no issues with connectivity. In fact, I think it's impressive how well the online play performs.

I have a question, did doing this stop the internet from working on all other internet connected devices in your house? Like your PC, etc? I am under the impression that if I set up a static IP for my 3DS to fix this, then the router (a ******) will work fine for the 3DS but stop giving internet to all other computers in my house. If so, I assume I would then have to set up static IPs for all devices (like 10) in my house.

Or did you just set up a single static IP for your 3DS and the internet works fine for everything else in your house?

After setting a static IP for the 3DS every other wireless device continued working normally. When you set a static IP for a device you only change the way that device connects to the internet and not how your internet works.

It only effects the 3DS. Just make sure the IP address you assign is outside the range that your router normally assigns to other devices. This will prevent a conflict between the 3DS IP address and one assigned to another device. After setting a static IP for the 3DS every other wireless device continued working normally.
