I hope so. I haven't head anything on the subject. Honestly, I got a bit caught up in the hype. the level creator and jump-in-and-out testing gameplay looks fluid and amazing. But when I actually sit down to play some of these levels, I want to do it with a real controller and not the oversized ipad. I can't play most games on the Wii U with the Gamepad and it is going to suck if pro controller support isn't an option.

@isturbo1984: Im not sure about the Pro controller, but ive seen people playing with the WiiMote. I watched Jose Otero play with the Gamepad, and Brian Altano play with the WiiMote. In the Championships they used the Gamepad, but with all that said, i see no reason why they cant implement the Pro Controller.

I would say yes, most first party Wii U titles have support for it.

Most likely the gamepad will be used for the level editing. I don't think you'll be doing any level editing with the pro controller. But I think you'll be able to use the Wiimote at least so there are options.

Its been shown with the Wiimote? hmm... thats a good indicator! yeah, the gamepad is fine for some games, but with precision platforming, the feel is all wrong. i dont know if i am alone here, but i wont be able to beat the expert courses with the gamepad.

@isturbo1984: I've done a lot of platforming with the gamepad and I felt no issue when it comes to precision. As far as a controller goes, its pretty good. Its just the compensating for the screen in the middle that throws a lot of people off. I even played Injustice with it and it felt great even for a fighting game. I'm sure that it is off putting to some gamers and I understand that. Hopefully they offer lots of control options. I'm partial the the Classic Controller Pro for some reason.

thats exactly it. especially with precision and twitch skill games like platforms and some others... the weight and feel of a controller with the large screen in the middle, separating the hands throws the controller balance all off. again, its fine when i play Zelda and some action games, but the center of gravity shift causes the gamepad to "see-saw" in my hands.

maybe i'll get more accustomed to it, snapping back and forth between editing and testing out my edits with Mario Maker. but i doubt it. i remember playing NSMBU, the first mario platformer i've put my hands on in years at the time... i was around world 5, getting my ass handed to me. i didnt know what the problem was. i thought i was just getting old and i couldnt bring it no more. switched to the pro controller and dominated. never looked back.

i bet that when you make a level you won't have the choice but to use the gamepad and when you play a level someone else made that you can use whatever

@the_funyarinpa: They have the Gamecube controller that acts as the classic controller, so anything that says Gamecube controller support, is also for Gamecube Fight Pad.

@mesome713: Ya the ones that plug into the wiimotes, but I got the usb gamecube adapter and was hoping that it would get more support other than smash bros. That doesnt seem to be the case though... Id rather use the gamepad than buy some more gamecube controllers...

@the_funyarinpa: They warned fans about that though and fans still begged Nintendo for them. They wanted Wired Controllers. Nintendo had no plans to offer wired controllers, but fans begged and Nintendo gave them what they wanted.

Maybe with NX you can use that usb adapter, i think NX is the system that will be getting Gamecube digital downloads, its next after Wii U's N64 ones.
