I'm enjoying it. I like how its not the same old thing depending on the boards you choose. Despite reviews I've read that say the boards are unimaginitive and uninspired I think just the opposite. Depending on what board you choose the game will always be different. So its not like hey lets play mario party. Its like oh we could play this one or that one or whatever and its different. I havn't played a Mario Party since 5 though, so maybe this isn't something new.
I have never played any Mario Party games before trying Mario Party 8, but I agree with a lot of the points from the review.

The lack of widescreen during gameplay is pretty dissapointing, and I found the game to go a little too slowly for my liking at times. The mini games are fun, but waiting for everyone to finish their turns before the minigame for each round begins gets a bit tedious.
I have yet to try most of the game modes. This is just my initial impression
The game is only really worth owning if you have 3 other friends to play it with. It's an excellent multiplayer game as although luck plays a massive part in winning, it's the socialising while playing the game that makes it so great. You can have a laugh while everyone is on the board, and then get serious as the mini-games begin. Good memories playing through the N64 titles!
