Metroid Dread. Is it possibly down the road?

"A mysterious planned entry in the Metroid franchise, Metroid Dread appeared and then quickly disappeared on Nintendo title plan lists and in magazine articles in time for E3 2005. Nintendo would later decline comment on the title, keeping to itself whether its original listing was somehow an error or what development state the title is/was in, or whether or not the game still exists. No screenshot or further confirmation of the game has been released, then or since. Should we still prepare ourselves for the arrival Dread? At the moment, only Nintendo knows..."

I was playing Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and I came across a scan that caught my eye. The scan read, "Experiment status report update. Metroid project "Dread" is nearing the final stages of completion." I found this in the Research Facility area of the Pirate Homeworld in a room with samples from planets such as Zebes and SR388 as well as a few Metroids in cases. Do you think this might mean something? Possibly Retro's next project?

I heard from an unamed source that it may either be on the DS or a downloadable on Wii Ware. I don't remember where though.meetroid8

yeah i hear that way too much. and hopefully dread is in the works but is being hidden by nintendo and mysteriously shows up on your ds without you even knowing.

I'm going to try to say this politely: We know, stop making topics about this.
