Metroid Prime 3 is possibly the most important game coming to the Wii in the near future, and Retro studios has a lot to live up to with the excellent Metroid Prime 1 under their belt. What do you think that Retro needs to do to innovate the series but still keep the things that made the past Metroid games great? What must be done to make Metroid Prime 3 the best game it can possibly be?Emmenite7Well they're doing lots like adding voice acting, cooler story, seems to be cooler boss fights, a little more focus on shooting, great new setting it seems, and yeah. It was supposed to be a launch title so they probably had it pretty finished. They probably just didn't want to release it right away and have nothing left for Nintendo later on so they're probably adding even more stuff. Who knows what?
I'm pretty confident this game will be amazing, as most of us are judging by the success of the previous two entries, but I just hope they surprise us with multi-player options. Wi-Fi would just be perfect, like MP:H, or at LEAST have split-screen.narmi819Yeah, Hunters was a solid game with a great multiplayer but it was more Unreal Tournament than it was Metroid. I hope the new shooter-friendly controls don't make the single player into an FPS.
I know this sounds kinda fanboyish, but I really have no fears about Metroid Prime 3. I have complete faith that Nintendo and Retro will release another pure masterpiece which is what Metroid Prime 3 will be called.peaceful_angerI agree with this.
I'm hoping that they either change the shoot button to the trigger (B) or allow us to change the control scheme to do so. FPA or not, I will be pissed if I don't get to use the trigger and get stuck using the A button to fire. To me, that could be a deal breaker just because every time I play it will sit on the tip of my nose. Just my two cents. Other then that, I can't wait for it.
There is one thing that is pissing me off: Why does you need to fire on shot before you can charge the blast? Why cant you just hold B (I hope B will be the shooter-button, not A) and charge without firing a shot?
You maybe don't understand me, it's not easy explain XD

Not so great.. But still, you get the idea XD
Yeah, I'm still pretty worried about the game though. I am afraid of bad voice acting, especially since other bounty hunters will be in the game. That makes be see cheesey dialogue. I also don't like the demo level, it looks ripped from Halo. I want those big, pretty environments like from the first game.Emmenite7i think the voice acting is my biggest concern but I have faith in them to do all right. Also I want gigugous levels with a multi tiered system. But most of all do not screw up the frame rates of the game especially in the intense battles. Bring on SAMUS baby!
its easier to hit A rapidly than BThere is one thing that is pissing me off: Why does you need to fire on shot before you can charge the blast? Why cant you just hold B (I hope B will be the shooter-button, not A) and charge without firing a shot?

i think the A button feels more natural for samus, cause she isn't just carrying a gun

I agree as well, just hope they put some kind of online feature in especially as hunters had it.
No, having the A button as the fire button feels awkward. I feel like I have more speed and control over the wiimote when using the B button instead, as in other games (minigames) i've played.
If the voice acting sucks, the game will become cheesy after time. So hopefully they do some decent voice acting. I know the mucis and gameplay will be magnificant, but they better not make it stupid like metroid prime hunters. I bought that game, played it for a day and never touched it again. The level design was terrible and one-way straight forard. It had nothing to do with labrynth type level designs with seachable areas and hidden secrets. So if they stick with the MP and MP2 style of levels, I'd be happy.
We already know the graphics will be great for the Wii, and I'd like to see a little bit more use of the marble in puzzles, but otherwise I can't wait and I know it will be amazing!
I really don't get why some people think that online multiplayer is a kind of novelty. I've never played a metroid prime game before, but I'm guessing single player is awesome. When I had the original call of duty for computer, after I beat it once, it got really boring. As soon as I discovered online play (I was 9) It was like playing a brand new game. Even to this day I'm still playing the game just because of online. what I'm trying to say is that if metroid had online capabilities, it would extend the replay value for most gamers by a couple of years.Wardemon50Thats true. As long as Retro can make a multiplayer mode worth playing.
I have no idea why some people are worrying about this game. it will be amazing...no question. It's retro studio's, and they'll use the Wii-mote in ways we haven't really even thought of yet. Also, Retro will pave the way for how FPS's are supposed to control on the Wii. Some of you...sto worrying. It's friggin Reetro Studios, and Nintendo overlooks the game like a hawk. It'll be AAA...stop worrying.duble_Needler23Yeah, what this guy said. People who've actually played the game all say that it rocks, especially the bit when you twist the lever to open the elevator(thats just freakin' cool). The fact that this is one of Nintendos most cherished IPs makes me think that Nintendo wouldn't release it without the game being as close to perfection as possible... So stop worrying, this game will be great!
Hopes: becomes the best Metroid Prime game ever because of the innovtaive control system.
Fears: is too similar to the previous Metroid Prime games.
BYAKUGAN!!
Well, it's safe to say that online gameplay won't be available until you do a system update later in the year. It's possible the game is complete and they are waiting for the online portion to go.. well.. online.
Besides, the last 2 MP games were awesome in every way, and as lon gas voice acting is good, and she isn't a team member like starfox adventure or anything retarded like that, then it will be fine.
