Is this confirmed? Or speculation? I'm not really bothered I quite like the concept of text especially in games like Zelda because it's like reading a book, you decide for yourself how they sound, what they're vocal expressions would be like. It would be awful if some "cheesy wanna be voice actor" came in and screwed it all up, I think some games are better left to your own imagination; it's more creative that way. KingKoop
In my opinion, it is better to include voice acting wherever possible. Certainly Zelda survives fine without it, but I'm sure you wouldn't mind Nintendo giving these characters some more... well... character. A low budget game might botch the voice acting, but Nintendo has some deep pockets, and a lot of these characters have voice actors anyway, it just really isn't technically voice...Â
i seriously would not like to see link with VO. i still cant think of a single style that would suit him.reyad-u
Yea link with a voice would be weird, but would it be so wrong to have the characters who surrond link to get some VO. If you want example of what im saying think of it like GTA3 where the main character never spoke, but everyone else did which was fine. Also i'm happy MP3 will have VO if want preoof go to ign and they have a clip with some VO.

By this you mean for example Wario - "AM A WARIO NUMBERRA 1" right? and Peach's "PEACHY" could you imaginge a full fledged game with these voices constantly? It would annoy me after a while, the random outbursts here and there are funny though. But I see what you mean though.

I agree with you about the sudden outbursts are better than having it going, its a me, mario! its a me, mario! its a me, mario! its a me, mario! But with the people who are comlpaining about no voice for like the Zelda games, READ! Its like it can't hurt you to read 10-20 words and then start playing again.
i seriously would not like to see link with VO. i still cant think of a single style that would suit him.reyad-uIf they did I don't think they would make Link talk, just every body around him. Like the guy in GTA III
I think giving Link a voice would be very bad. I like him being a silent hero. I would however like to see Zelda, Ganon and villagers and stuff have VO. That would be cool.
Even if they add VO they could still leave the subtitles on. That comes in handy for me. Sometimes it gets noisy in my house during a cutscene, and I just read the subtitles during those times so I still know what's going on without reloading the game.

its ovious that Michael Clarke Dunkin should do it

So we're willing to put down $250+ on Nintendo's ability to create a unique and revolutionary game console, but we're terrified of what might happen if they add voice acting to their games?
Â
Â
...wow.Â
look at the first gameplay footage video on GS.... there isnt any voiceacting in that.
Â
Case solved?
no it's not the only game nintendo has used full voice acting in, there have been a few
for example battalion wars!

Wow i can't believe so many people DON'T want VO. fanboys. I love my Wii but I am starting to get the feeling that Nintendo hasn't changed at all and the Wii will just become the new gamecube. I just can't understand why Nintendo is unwilling to put VO in their games? They definately have the money to hire good voice actors. it'd be much better than hearing beeps. I'm amazed people are willing to put up with Nintendo's laziness and lack of commitment to it's hardcore fans.yanwaspI love how everyone here is throwing the "Fanboy" around like its going out of style. This board is so childish. Just because I don't want Samus to speak doesn't mean all the other characters in the game can't. Maybe I've been playing games for a long time and I am used the the protagonist of a videogame not speaking because I represent that character and speak his dialogue for him... So before you throw that word around try thinking about other reasons why people don't want VO. I think Halo does a great job at what I would like for a Metroid game. Master Chief has barely any dialogue in the game yet he is still a badass and you get a lot of VO from all the other peons in the game.
its confirmed to have voice acting, but i dont know if samus talks. in some of the older videos u can hear the secondary characters talking.
For Zelda games, i would love VO, but it doesnt mean that link has to talk. Just like Matt from IGN says, you can have everyone else talking, BUT link - that would help the game a lot.

I've never played Starfox Adventures, but I thought Slippy was always a girl?Didn't Starfox Adventures use voice acting? I remember cringing after I realised they changed Slippy to a girl, no just no!
But yeah anything that calls itself epic should have voice acting of some sort even if its a fake language.

Are you two talking about the toad? In StarFox Ds game, he has a wife... I think he's male. And he didn't sound like a girl in SFA neither...Are you asking or telling us? I doubt there will be any voice acting. Link please.gatsbythepigThey are videos of MP3 with voice acting already. Let me find a vid...
Edit: Here
if ANY nintendo franchise needs (and i mean NEEDS!!!) voice acting... it's Fire Emblem. dont get me wrong, i love it just fine without it so far. but when it comes to VA the sky's the limit
Zelda could work with VA, just dont give Link ANYTHING to say (ie Helloooo Princess :?). NPC's be great with it though.
Metroid could work as well, but it probs could mean the end of the whole scanning thing they've got going on. so if prime3 still has scanning and no VA then whatever came out after corruption/the prime trilogy could do whatever it wanted. granted of course i know there's a lot of people out there that'd rather have VA instead of the scanning in prime 3...
Â
edit: just watched that link further up the page. what i meant was about samus having full voice acting... though you could mebbe combine scanning and talking together, can't be that hard can it?Â
