Didn't Starfox Adventures use voice acting? I remember cringing after I realised they changed Slippy to a girl, no just no!

But yeah anything that calls itself epic should have voice acting of some sort even if its a fake language.

I've never played Starfox Adventures, but I thought Slippy was always a girl?

Play the SNES original, everything about him/her/it looks and sounds male.

I've still got those posters somewhere but can't find them :(

Look, she has beads around her kneck. :P I'm not saying men can't wear beads but i'm still sure slippy is a girl lol.

uhh..... slippy gets married to a chick in star fox ds. are you saying slippy's a lesbian?

Her wife is in for a nasty suprise! :P Nah, maybe i'm wrong. But I got the idea slippy was a girl from the SNES game. I just can't remember how...

When me and my friends booted up Starfox Adventures one of the first things we noticed was a very femanine voice for Slippy and it freaked us out. It could have been the beer, it could have been the bad pizza, but thats how it whent down. Unless its a cross-gender frog :o

Is this confirmed? Or speculation? I'm not really bothered I quite like the concept of text especially in games like Zelda because it's like reading a book, you decide for yourself how they sound, what they're vocal expressions would be like. It would be awful if some "cheesy wanna be voice actor" came in and screwed it all up, I think some games are better left to your own imagination; it's more creative that way. KingKoop

Nintendo would NOT allow the Voice acting to be bad.... Nintendo is about quality games and no im not talking about GFX.

That is the exact reason I HATE games like zelda with a lot of text. I came to play a video game, not read a book. I want to relax, not study. I hate reading. There should be an option for voice acting or text for those nerds who like to read. (no offence)

If they make Link around the age of 25, I would love to see him talk, not very much but a bunch of key lines.  In my mind Link would have the voice of Steve Blum, or the voice of Spike Spiegal (from Cowboy Bebop).  Quiet, smart, bold, funny, all at the same time. I think that would be perfect voice if they used a voice for Link.

But in general I would love really good voice acting over text, but text over poor voice acting.  If Nintendo can't do it amazingly well, then I don't want it.

Samus is still silent, only other characters talk.

Zelda would be pretty good with VA actually. Theres so many other fantasy games such as Zelda that work with VA. It just seems weird because we have never seen any in a Zelda game. Link should be silent though.

FULL voice acting has not been confirmed and i am 99% sure they will not make samus talk, that would be a bad idea.

If they did I don't think they would make Link talk, just every body around him. Like the guy in GTA III

It would have to be 100% perfect thought, one cheesy American accent and it would be ruined for a lot of people.

Yeah. they're all aliens except samus so they would all have to have "alien" like voices that would suit there form because no one wants to hear some space pirate sounding like a southerner or a new yorker (just to name some really thick accents...and scanning could have a vo it would just have to be like cortanna

Voice acting for Metroid? yes.  For Zelda? No.  For Mario? Maybe, if they do it good enough.  (and maybe take the edge off of his Italian accent.  Man that thing's annoying.)

Which wouldn't be any different than now.  Link never talks, even in the current text approach, and voice acting wouldnt change that.

But of course those games should have voice acting. And if we're including 2nd party games (as we should, seeing how they're as much 'nintendo' as Metroid Prime) then Conker's BFD was about as good as the n64 got.

Nintendo won't make their games into crap. I mean they arn't EA... Most likely they would get a good voice actor, but with most of their games like Zelda, they would need to find the perfect actor. We have grown up with zelda and have been forced to create the voices for the game. Now they would have to find the actor that could appeal to every persons voice. That is why i think Zelda shouldn't get any voice actors, but other games probably would fair better.

Mario however should never have an actor. Why i believe that is because of the movie created from Mario. If that movie was that horrible i really don't want to see how even bringing in a voice actor would fair. "shakes at the mere thought of recreating the mario movie".
