Metroid Prime Gets 10/10 In Nintendo Power.

GS review for MP3. Seriously, i hate all the recent GS reviews, not just wii reviews. Most of them are totally off.

yea i used to trust gamespots reviews more than IGN but now i go to IGN for all my reviews and use gamespot for a backup.

IGN has a dedicated team just for Wii reviews, the same cannot be said for GS which is why I don't go by them as much anymore.

I've been reading Nintendo Power for years, and I agree that they have gotten better with their ratings. Back in the N64 era, they would never even consider mentioning PS1--except when they claimed that an N64 port was better.

Nowadays they only overratefirst-party games by maybe a half-point. It isn't too bad, especially considering they only rate and compare games on Nintendo platforms.

I'm pretty sure that this is NP's first EVER 10 score they've given out, so this is nothing to laugh at. They didn't even give OoT a 10.

Well to be fair, IGN gave it an 8.8 and Gamespot gave it an 8.5 so it must have been pretty good. Maybe you just don't like those kind of games. Although I have to agree NP is biased.

I'll start this post off by saying i did not read through all the pages of post thus far. I have so far only read posts on the first page and the the final page at this point of be typing this message.

I do not read NP magazine and follow the articles of the reviewers on their staff. But what i did notice while reading these posts is the whole "bias/not as bias as people claim" going on from post to post.

What i believe you have to consider tho when it comes to NP is that its Nintendo. These staff members who do the reviews are simply playing games on nintendo platforms and rating them based on what games are actually out on these platforms.

So to give Metroid Prime 3 a 10/10 when comparing to XBOX360 games and PS3 games it does appear to be bias reviews going on to help sell their games. But lets see Metroid Prime 3 compared to say Farcry on the same system it would seem that its a big difference in quality.

So the point i'm trying to make is this staff is only looking at a small pictureof videogames not the whole picture because thats all they are tasked at achieving is this one brand of console manufacturer.

So in conclusion i'd say if you're only looking at Wii games and not taking any other systems into account the game is fairly accurately rated, however i have not played the game yet so i cant say in my own opinion it is deserving of a 10/10. But i do know that there is a lot of trash on the wii.

No, i'm glad Metroid is getting a 10, and i'm a fan of the series, but I doubt that it really is 10-worthy... Maybe it is... but I doubt it. I guess you are right about Zelda, but I was talking about OoT.. Critically recognized as the greatest game of all time.. and personally for me.

Well I've never even played the game so I'm just going off their reviews. You're probably right though. It doesn't look like the kind of game I'd want to play.

Prime 3 looks like a 9.5 ish in my book. thatd make it 6th on my Top 5 Games of All Time list.

Prime 1, Starcraft, Pokemon Gold, Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic, Resident Evil 4.

if they play too many mind games they become even more biased, i mean they'll start giving mario parties 11's and mario galaxies 0. then peope would just get angry. :P but comon, im sure that wario ware didnt deserve the 9.1 it got. it had to be to calm down the TP angry people.

Wario Ware got a 9.1 for what it was. a Really Fun, (Albeit Short) Innovative game. If you'd read the review instead of looking at the score maybe you'd understand.

Zelda deserved the score it got. Im glad Gamespot had the balls to rate the game appropriately even in the face of all the GOTY Hype that other sites gave it.

IGN also gave zelda a 9.5, the reviews are longer than a paragraph, and Baten Kaitos is an awesome game.
