OMG, though I already have all 3 original games, if they actually bring this out, I would buy it.
I rather have preffered this one instead.

Now THAT is awesome! 8)
Wow, that's really boring box art. I guess it somewhat promises epicness... Just take out the big "Collector's Editon" label and change the color so it doesn't look so bland. This definitely won't catch anyone's eyes while scanning a wall of games.
The fan-art version looks amazing though.

Is it really so bad? I thought it was kinda neat myself...I actually like the box art, it's really understated but powerful or bold at the same time. However, the fan box art is absolutely amazing and would be worth paying for on it's own. In fact if that were the box art for the game I would probably spend more time looking at the discs and cover than playing the game itself (okay maybe a slight exaggeration).
I thought it looked pretty sweet. Then again, my expectations have been lowered ever since I saw the Conduit's and Dead Space's box art. I like the simplicity of this one. Will this be regular retail price?
Actually I like it quite a bit. The only thing I would change is making it so Samus' face isn't being hidden behind the "Wii" logo on the top.

Same here. The real boxart is terrible, why they think it is cool to put a giant orange stripe in the middle of the box!

Well no one really impulse buys games anymore so making boxart that really stands out isn't really necessary anymore. Its actually more important whats on the back of the box, than whats on front of it.I still can't believe they actually fit all three games on 1 disc
shows how much cooler MP3 could've been with more time...and ya know... effort.
MP3 is a critically acclaimed game and is considered one of the best looking Wii games 2 years after release. The effort is there.I still can't believe they actually fit all three games on 1 disc

GC disks had a cap of 1.5GB and Wii disks can be dual layeredfor 8.54GB. I doubt Retro used ALL of the GC memory as well.

no, I'm not saying the game was terrible. I enjoyed it rather somewhat....
I'm just saying, it could've been bigger/longer. I would say the game was probably the same length of the others, or even shorter. If Retro developed a 1.5GB size game when a Wii disc is 8.54GB... (and the game didn't look any better than it's predacessors besides smalleffects) then obviously they could've done more compared to what we actually got.
maybe Other M will maximize the Wii's potential

Metroid Prime was more linear than the other Primes, especially MP 2: Echoes which I'm playing through again. There's your length argument right there. MP3 has larger, more intricate architecture, more dynamic lighting like bloom and HDR(the lighting in the other Primes pale in comparision). Also, compare the in game models of MP3 with MP/MP2 and even those are an improvement.Well the gamecube ones are very good(I only have MP1& MP3 but I heard 2 was good) and Metroid Prime 3 was great to.It's pretty dull but the game better be good.

MP3 had very minimal back tracking, and was the most linear by far out of the 3. (I'm guessing you forgot the 3? lol)
How do you figure Prime 3 has more intricate architecture?Like detail to the walls and thelike? The game's enviroments were not larger by anymeans, and the only planet I could see being more in depth is Elyssia, but that's mostly open space with just the rail systems.
Everything you mentioned again, is an effect...and if they were enhanced compared to the previous games, it was minimal. Even enemy AI was similiar.
I didn't expect a revamp of the game engine, but I still think that Retro could've done better overall even if all they touched on was graphics/effects. I think they were more concentrated on the controls, and didn't have enough time to up th graphics even more.
I keep trying to find comparisons (screens) but I hate doing that. I'll just wait until my copy gets here to actually make a better judgement lol. I honestly didn't notice that big of a difference though.
oh well, the box art sucks!

Yeah, I meant MP3 was linear.:P But the environment were larger. Like when Samus lands on Norion, you fly through the complexand there are all kinds of ships flying around shooting each other. And when there is a code red during the freak gathering and you go into the starboard and there are Federation ships in the distance being cut in half with pirate lasers in the windows. Like I said, I've been playing MP2 and the difference is very clear. The levels are more intricate than MP/MP2. I see the poly count is higher on enemy models and levels as well. It's not like I look for it, it's just that playing between them make the differences stand out more.[QUOTE="danger_ranger95"]

There was more going on screen than the previous games, I will agree with that for sure. Maybe it's just because I haven't played the Gc titles in so long, and when I finally played 3, I just expected more. The character models do definitely have higher poly counts as well.
Prime
Prime 2
Prime 3
obviously 3, does indeed include (this screen) lots and lots of bloom.I would have to say thatthe Pirate homeworld was my favorite area, design wise though, it had alotgoing onvisually compared to Norion. The enemy models do look alot smoother.
but the biggest thing I noticed that wasn't changed that much was the arm cannon.
I still can't wait to play all 3 with the Wii controls though... should be fun!
I rather have preffered this one instead.

OMG WTF IS THIS? WHERE DID THIS COME FROM IS IT REAL? SOMEBODY PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME! I WILL PAY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR THIS IF IT IS! IFANYONE CAN TELL ME I WILL ALSO BUY YOU YOUR OWN UNICORN AND X-MAN OF YOUR CHOICE!!!!
yeah, I guess I see what you're saying.I think Retro modeled Samus so well in Metroid Prime, she didn't need any real changes in the trilogy. She doesn't look at that different in any of them except MP2 which they give her a more bulky look. At least, that's my reasoning for the arm cannon. There was more going on screen than the previous games, I will agree with that for sure. Maybe it's just because I haven't played the Gc titles in so long, and when I finally played 3, I just expected more. The character models do definitely have higher poly counts as well.

Don't plan on getting it. From what I saw on Youtube videos, they actually cropped the original 4:3 view of MP/MP2 to give them 16;9 widescreen. That means you see less upper and lower parts, and overall, less screen.:?

As far as control goes, I guess I'm content with the old GC controls and would rather buy new games instead.
It looks like a Warning Label that could be seen in the Game but with Collector's Edition instead of Warning. I think it works.the cover is cool, except for that out of place orange collector's edition strip.... wth.
fluffy_kins
me too :P but it's not like it's bad. besides, what's inside is more important :P
It liked the fan art version way better.
FFCYAN
or just throw it below the ESRB and nintendo rating/logo... i like to say i have the "collector edition", even though it'll be there in all the gamesTake off that giant orange warning lable and you're set.
