Hey friends!

So, I've played Prime 1 before, and a little of 2 and 3. Been jonzing to play them again. Question is, which to get? Separately on EBay, I can get all 3 for a little less than 40. The Trilogy however, is at least 50 (CAD), so I'm wondering if the Trilogy is far superior to either? Or individually they are fine.

Thanks for all and any opinions!

if it was me I'd just get the Trilogy and be done with collecting the Games.

But if you want each game seperatly you can do so since it maybe cheaper. You just won't get the Cool Metal Casing and that Booklet thing.

Get Prime Trilogy. Besides the Wii controls, there are also improvements made to 1 + 2 like shorter load times, bloom lighting, and lower difficulty. You can also use the tokens you earn in Prime 3 to unlock stuff in Prime 1 & 2.

I would just go with Trilogy, that way its all one disc, you don't have to worry about GC controllers and Memory Cards and like FallenDemon said, the game has a couple of technical improvements and has been balanced a little more.

i would go for the trilogy for a few reasons......(my deciding reasons before i got the game) i can play ALL

the games on 1 disk

utilized wii controls (and theyre GREAT with the game as you know)

collectors addition box and art

bragging rights

and graphical improvements and and bonuses.

EDIT: guess its a no brainer now isnt it. with the majority ruling!

in trilogy you get bonus points and can listen to prime 1 and prime 2 soundtracks anytime...

also unlock a fusion suit in prime 1.

also the wii controls are cooler than using the gamecube controller...

all games on 1 disc.

i say trilogy.

Trilogy's difficulty level is improved (as far as I'm concerned). Purists will whine, but it makes the games more fun - especially the second. Don't get me wrong, I beat the first game at the default difficulty level when it originally came out but replaying it I'm more than happy to have a dumbed down version- it's not really that altered anyway. Widescreen and wii controls are a nice perk too, though I also wish you could toggle Gamecube controls on the fly. Then again, Twilight Princess should have had that option too and didn't, so who knows.

also unlock a fusion suit in prime 1.

KBFloYd
Is the the suit you got for linking your GBA and Metroid Fusion to your Gamecube? Nice they threw that in as a feature considering the original method was a pain in the ass (good riddance GBA connectivity).

Only 10 bucks more for the trilogy pack? Yeah, I'd say go with that, not having to worry about GCN controlers and memery cards is enough me, but on top of that ya got much better controls, more difficulty settings, better load times, convience of only 1 disc, cool case, art booklet, and achievement token thingies for all 3 games.

Thanks for your awesome replies you guys! I really appreciate it!

It's funny as well. Not ONE single person entertained the idea of getting all 3 individually. Seems like a no brainer!

ill be that one person. wii controls add nothing to prime 1 and 2 because they were designed for gcn controls to begin with. load times are a non-issue because they are all masked. all youre really getting is widescreen (admittedly cool for an immersive first person game where widescreen is actually closer to the aspect ratio of your vision) and some minor texture improvements. if you dont have a hdtv, you wont get anything out of those two tweaks.

Definitely Trilogy. The Wii controls make the whole experience feel so much better, and if you're gonna play the games back to back, the trilogy will feel much more like one single experience, instead of three separate ones. And that's not even mentioning the cool packaging, the improved load times and the achievement system.

nah ninty stopped production on it. it was only a limited release collectors edition but of course you can always find it second hand which is what i did. everything was included and the disc was in mint condition...its the next best thing.

The trilogy is worth it plus it seems to be a good collecters item as well. I just bought Metroid Prime Trilogy last week new for a steal of a price at sears in the US. It was only $9.97. I am not even a metroid fan but at that price why not. Especially with Nintendo not making anymore.
