That is the key demographic audience for Wii Music :| Im keeping my Wii for the kids, I wouldn't say I have out grown Nintendo but I do feel they are having a mid life crisis and we need some time apart while they work through a few things...SapSacPrime
Time apart? I think they found someone new.

They sure have, it is highly unlikely to last though, at some point the audience is going to realise they can get better software that runs on macromedia flash player ;).
Boy, those kids are so lucky! I want to see the father of video games in person too.:)lancea34
I must admit I am a little envious lol, I would sell a testicle to meet Miyamoto in person hehe.

:D that's kinda disturbing!
so miyamoto is trying to get some preschool kids to pester their parents of wanting a wii and to get wii music :Pwiifan001
nothing else in this topic matter except what this guy said. that is EXACTLY whats happening!!!
Awesome video. I don't know what you guys see as awkward.... They all seemed to be having genuine fun, including the teachers. If seeing people have fun playing video games is a downer to you guys.. then I don't know what to tell you.

I don't know about you, but I've never gotten the impression that Miyamoto is a money-hungry greedbag with no real human feelings. Almost all of his game ideas have arisen out of his own passions, and he wants to share those with the world, because he knows that he's not the only one with those dreams (such as exploring like Link or playing music without being intimidated).
Plus, I'm pretty sure that he asks the kids at the beginning if any of them have a Wii, and most of them raise their hands. It would make sense.

Someone is in a bad mood. Besides this game is a joke.Someone is in a bad mood. Besides this game is a joke.randomguy15
Ok.
Why is this game a joke? It's not designed to appeal just to gamers or just to non-gamers. In fact, it throws out those categories completely. It's made for people who might be interested in playing music but have always been intimidated by real instruments or who just don't have the musical experience to make anything that sounds good.
That's not a joke.... That's a fresh idea that most of us who post in forums just don't care about it seems. I probably won't be buying the game, but I won't make fun of people who will. If you have any interest in music or have ever made music of your own, then you know how fun it can be.
Regardless of how you feel about it, it's hard to deny that at least kids will have a lot of fun with this game. Not every game from a great like Miyamoto needs to be catered exclusively for people like us.

I'm not dening that kids will like this game, and casuals will like playing it. But just shaking your arms to play some tunes or beats isn't innovatitive, Nintendo just made it to get some more casuals to pay for their game/ system. And no I'm not saying Nintendo is selfish power hungry people, but this game will have no replay value, it's like a toddler toy to be honest.I'm not dening that kids will like this game, and casuals will like playing it. Don't take this the wrong way, but it doesn't seem like you understand the point of the game.
You can't just flail your arms and press random buttons to have fun. If you watch the video in this thread, that's what the kids initially do, and it sounds terrible. But after a few seconds, they start to keep in time with the beat and improvise at appropriate times. Miyamoto didn't want the player to be confined to a specific set of notes, like in Guitar Hero or Rock Band. He wanted the ability to improvise at any point during the song. That's where it's special.
The way I see it, the replay value is in creating your own versions of the provided songs. You can record up to six instruments on top of each other. The choice of instruments is around 60, I believe. We'll be seeing some pretty awesome songs on YouTube because of this game, I guarantee it.
It can be played by toddlers, but it can also be enjoyed by anyone who has some musical sense (or gains it through this game).
*sigh* okay, so that was cute. ¬_¬
Seems like a good game to get kids interested in music. My opinion has changed since the game was last seen at E3.

Well I'm afraid to say that even people with musical experience or musical sense will not take this game seriously. And also you reminded me of my arts and humanities teacher who said I don't get music so I have no respect for it, and yes your both right and your also right when you say I don't get the point of the game which don't worry I didn't take the wrong way. I just can't see anyone even someone for a respect of music or someone who is intimidated by real instruments, enjoy this game. But your right some people will enjoy it.I just can't see anyone even someone for a respect of music or someone whoo is intimidated by real instruments but is intrested could enjoy this game IMO it's nothing special.randomguy15
All right, I see where you're coming from. I wasn't really trying to convince you that you should like the game or anything, just trying to show you how it's possible for some people to be interested in it.

It's just his way of getting people to buy the piece of crap. He's going to tell the preschoolers how "awesome" it is and then they will do the advertising for him. But this time, it will be even more annoying. It'll keep going until parent's finally buy the game.GamerBoy53
Yeah, because the parents in that class are going to make up the majority of Wii Music's profits.
There's no way Miyamoto just wants kids to become interested in music.
That'd be crazy!

First they start by targeting game advertising to pre-schoolers to make it look "cool". You may think that's fine, but next thing you know, they're targeting kids with cigarette and vodka ads and perhaps even Bratz and Petz ads if we don't put a stop to this! Our kids are growing up too fast!!

Yes, I understood exactly what he was saying, and it's rather insulting to both randomguy and me for you to say that.

I'm the same way with Nascar. I used to hate Nascar and couldn't see any value in it whatsoever. I had no understanding of it, and a few years ago, one of my friends accused me of having no respect for it because of that. When he explained some of the strategy and more intricate details of the sport, I did gain a little respect but not enough to make me interested in it. ;)
