Ok. I don't usually post here. I'm wondering how often this has happened to other DS Lite users.
Apparently it also happened here: http://www.gamecaption.com/2006/12/18/ds-crack-and-a-half/
Well anyway, the Nintendo warranty says it doesn't cover damages like this "THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY IF THIS PRODUCT: ... IS DAMAGED BY NEGLIGENCE, ACCIDENT, UNREASONABLE USE, OR BY OTHER CAUSES UNRELATED TO DEFECTIVE MATERIALS OR WORKMANSHIP; OR (e) HAS HAD THE SERIAL NUMBER ALTERED, DEFACED OR REMOVED. "
So, I'll be calling Nintendo tomorrow to see if I can get a replacement at a cheaper price than buying a new DS unless by some miracle they'll do it for free. Well anyway, the question again is "How often does this happen?" If you're wondering how it happened to me, I was playing but closed the DS to answer the door. When I opened it again to resume playing the hinge ripped off and the above image is the end result. Well anyway, in case you're interested, I bought my DS Lite day one (June 19) and it's made in China.
