I need to buy a new game that is addictive, but not an RPG since I already have FFIII (and don't want to buy pokemon.)

what are some really fun platformer/arcade/puzzle games? I already own NSMB and MKDS, btw

(I looked in the recommendation thread, it didn't help me much.)

Probably castlevania: dawn of sorrow. Now it does have rpg elements like leveling up, but its not A rpg. I say its addicting, because theres many things you can do, like explore the entire castle, collect monster souls, and more. Super mario 64 ds can be addicting, but the controls can make or break how addicted you get though.

Planet Puzzle League is a good pick. Competition is fierce.

As far as puzzle games go, I would highly recommend Meteos. It's a very well made, exciting, addicting game with dozens of hours of playability (although I have over 100 hours logged on it). It has many, many unlockables and quite a few different modes to keep things interesting.

Elite Beat Agents anyone? that game can drive you through a wall coz of its insane difficulty, but it's soo rewarding. i also agree with meteos; that was a great game. phoenix wright is also a good choice (albeit there's LOTS of words) trauma centre is a good challenge.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike. It's a strategic turn based game but it is really fun. It almost took me an hour to defeat my opponent because of the good AI.

Get Anno 1701 for DS, probably the most addictive game out there and perhaps the best one aswell.

yeah I've been needing a puzzle game, as I don't have one yet. I was thinking of buying that one, and I probably will next especially since you say you have played over 100 HOURS of it.

I never would have expected so much gameplay value out of a puzzle game like meteos...

Like I said, 100 hours is just for me. I can be kind of crazy like that. The average person can expect somewhere around 20 or 30 hours, from what I've heard.

Clubhouse Games. You can get it for $30 and it has dozens of card and board games, including chess and checkers. It also has rummy, which is probably my favorite card game. Best value on the DS, hands down.

Bomberman Land Touch is a great buy if you like multiplayer Bomberman, as it has wi-fi capabilities. The single-player isn't very good, though if you play it for a while you will likely find yourself sucked into it. It has an odd quality about it where you just want to finish it out of spite.

Other winners include Mario Kart DS (of course) and New Super Mario Bros. NSMB is short, but it's the best Mario game I've played since Super Mario World. Advance Wars is good, as others have stated, and is addictive, though I see you can only find that one for $60 and at that rate I might pass. I just picked up SimCity DS and if you like SimCity, that's what this is, though the controls are pretty awkward as far as I can tell and you only get one save slot, which is ridiculous.
