His name makes no sense, his character makes no sense, he has no reason to exist.

His name makes plentyu of sense. Wario was derived from flipping the M in Mario, thus making Wario "evil." They wanted to do the same with Luigi, but he was no M, so they added a Wa. It also helps that "Wa" can mean "bad" in Japanese, if I'm correct.I for one, DESPISE Daisy, and her musky voice and preppy attitude.
Wario was made to be the anti-mario so they turned the M upside down to symbolise oppositeness. Waluigi was a rushed last minute character made to fill space so they thought "Omg wat if Wario had a bruther?" and so added the Wa to the start of his name, rather than taking the logical route and turning the L in Luigi upside down and creating the God-like 7uigi.
Because then his name would be hard to pronounce. Of course, I'd rather have him as a character in the spin-offs, instead of some other character.Mario, Luigi, Wario and Waluigi were all first appeared in the original Mario Bros. they just all didn't have names yet, so it can't be a last minute character.
the only character, out of those four, that debuted in the original Mario Bros game was LuigiI was going to correct you but you're right xD Mario debuted in Donkey Kong.
