I noticed that A LOT of people are OVERHYPING a game that hasn't been shown yet and many were speculatiing that it would 100% show up at E3 when I told many that they are wrong and gave me all these "theories" that it would. When they were proven wrong, they could not even say a thing after I made a topic about how I told em so. What is that game? easy........

ZELDA,...... Can't wait till we get some footage of then game when Miyamoto decides to.

Brawl was by far the most hyped game on the Wii, but because I thought it was so good, it is not the most overhyped. Most overhyped though? I'd say maybe Red Steel. When I first saw it, I expected 1:1 swordfighting and awesome fps controls.

Wii Sports

5 minutes of talking about the game around people make them want to spam calls to five different stores every day for weeks, take a sick leave just to stand in line for hours until a UPS truck arrives, spend $250 ($515 Euro equivalent now?) for a white box. Spend all that gas money driving home. Drive to the general store for $1 batteries. Drive back to the gaming store for a second controller. Drive back again when Wii Play didn't have a Nunchuck.

And finally, drive back again the week after because they promised themselves to only buy a Wii the first week and their next game only if they liked the system.

And then the next for The Guitar Hero. Not any particular one, just The Guitar Hero.

Those other Wii games don't even scratch the surface of overhype.

Brawl was the most overhyped thing since sliced bread. But as of recent The Conduit would probably be the most overhyped thing. Hopefully HVS can deliver.

Yeah i have to go with the flow, SSBB was the most overhyped game. not Zelda Twilight Princess cause i only saw about 2 commercials and ZERO ads (on internet). SSBB didnt really live up to its expectations, I mean c'mon they could of done so much more with the game, AND THEY STILL POSTPONED THE GAME COMING OUT IN AMERICA/and some other countries, thats why i think mario kart beat it cause it has alot more online features than Brawl. And if you play online MOST PEOPLE ARE SPAMMERS. Compared to MK, ...Nothin' You must really have bad luck. When i post my FC on Brawl on sites like gamefaqs, There are alot of really cheap people and I GET MAD. Mario Kart, Its all experience and I HAVE FUN. When people come over They look at my collection of games (3) and they Think "Lets play Mario Kart!" or "Can I try out Zelda?" When i have people over that wanna play Brawl, They get mad cause im too good.

Also The first SSB (for 64) will always beat SSBB and SSBM

If your thinking "dude Your totaly wrong, brawl is the best!" then ill say the most overhyped game is Mario Party 8.

The Conduit, end of story. It may turn out to be good, but either way it's wayyyy overhyped.

Brawl also. I enjoyed Melee wwwaaaayyyy more. Brawl didn't live up to its hype.

While Brawl was the most hyped Wii game, I feel it lived up to it, with the exception of the poor online.

I find Megaman 9 to be horribly overhyped. I know it's not out, but I just find it ridiculous that people are making so much fuss over an 8-bit game.

It's an 8-bit game that's going to be really good and would remind us when Mega Man used to be awesome, IGN gave it a 8.6.

Red Steel and Twilight Princess. I didn't mind Red Steel, it was just...a generic shooter with hit and miss controls. And Twilight Princess was good, but it was hyped HUGE, and was probably my least favorite Zelda game.

Wow, so many replys for Brawl. I am actually going to agree with the crowd this time because the lack of innovation hurts it there. Of course, the fact that all other games got ignored and people just kept going on and on about it before release was the biggest "overhype" factor.

Twilight Princess was also overhyped. The 8.8 ordeal still comes back to torment all of us.

The Conduit. By Far.

While I really want the game, its just the same thing as any other run n' gun shooter. The storyline has also been used about as many times as Mario has used his "save the princess" storyline.

Why is Brawl overhyped? It's way better than Melee, 'nuff said. Twilight Princess was a great game, yeah, it isn't better than Ocarina and Majora's but it's still a great. And I don't dare to say that the Conduit is overrated; I first want to play / read some reviews, and then I decide wether it's overrated or not. But I hope that they won't **** it up, cause this could be a great shooter!

Brawl without a doubt. I wont limit this to the Wii either, Brawl is easily among the most overhyped/overated games spanning all consoles of all generations. It takes its rightful place next to the likes of Halo 3.

Wow Brawl definatly lived up to the hype IMO. I think everyone is over looking Red Steel. We can use the Wiimote to imitate sword fights and shooting! However they sucked and they were just plain boring. Superdude475
How can you say such a thing_ Brawl was horribly broken in many areas. I have a great online connection for other games, but with Brawl I was waiting for half an hour, only to get disconnected soon after starting a match. As for the subspace emissary, the two player game just sucked, as one player would always go off screen. Too many of the characters were copies of each other. Plus, the game had almost no motion controls, which is what the Wii is all about. All in all, a mediocre game that was nothing more than a Gamecube game with better graphics. Brawl would have been better on the PS3, and is without a doubt, the most overhyped game this generation!

Brawl, if only because I thought it would be the greatest game ever. It's still awesome though.

Red Steel on the other hand, oh. That game is crap.

Brawl was one of the most over-hyped games in existence.

I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more if there wasn't so many people claiming it'd be the gaming equivalent of sex.

AlexSays

there's no equivilant to brawl!

Brawl, I still find it to be awesome, but there's problems like: Laggy online connection(though some matches were lag free), some characters like Star Fox, Falco and Star Wolf were nearly identical, the maze in Subspace Emissary was a cheap way to extend that mode, a weak Stage Builder IMO and not much innovation.

It's basically Melee with more characters, a few more modes, online play and a stage builder. The core fighting hasn't changed one bit.

I would have to say Brawl. Not because the game is bad, or anything, but the hype for that game was a bit out of hand.

Defiantly Brawl. I'm still playing it a lot with friends, but the biggest step from Melee to Brawl was online, and that was a huge letdown, and only played the subspace to unlock characters. It's still really really good, but I feel like I've been there, done that.

The three games I think that were overhyped are Brawl (I haven't played it since April as well), No More Heroes (at least by the online Nintendo community), and Wii Fit.

Wow! A lot of Brawl negativity here.

Back on topic, I say Tales of Symphonia II and The Conduit. I have a bad feeling about these games.

TwilightSoilder
That game is actually getting hype? :|

It should. The first Tales of Symphonia was f***ing fantastic. Brawl, in my opinion, is a little over hyped but It's still awesome. I think Zack and Wiki is overhyped.

I loved Brawl, the online got a bit laggy and we may have spoiled the fun for ourselves by checking out all the new characters for the game but yeah...still an amazing game. Deserved almost every ounce of the hype.

Most overhyped game...I'd say...Red Steel. Incredible hype for that game, and it just tanked.

[QUOTE="tacoeater831"]brawl deserved the hype because it was good!!!!AlexSays

Not as good as the hype said it would be.

I haven't even played the game since April. It just sits there, next to the games that I actually like.

Same here WAYYYYY to much hype and i dont play my Brawl also, it just collects dust..
