With E3 around the corner, I was thinking about what Nintendo could possibly show us and I got thinking -- I strongly believe we might see a fair amount of MotionPlus supported games, apart from just the new Zelda Wii.

I say this because of the launch of the new black Wii, which comes bundled with Wii Sports Resort and MotionPlus, along with everything else from the old bundle. Its notjust the black Wii, but Nintendo has changed the bundles of the white Wii as well to include the same deal (MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort).I feel that they obviously want the peripheral to get out into as many households as possible. I also believe that Nintendo thinks MotionPlus is vital to the future of the console's software library and thus they must include it in the SKUs.

I don't know if I'm onto something or if it's just wishful thinking, however I'm excited and hopefully I am right. I love MotionPlus and it has so much potential, but we haven't seen many developers use it, including Nintendo. The last big game to use it was Red Steel 2. I'm hoping for much more, however I know Nintendo doesn't pressure people to use and support their peripherals, Reggie has said it himself.

Heres hoping at E3 we get a fair share of games that actually use the device, because I think the userbase is out there. Wii Sports Resort has done well commercially, the Tiger Woods bundle was successful, Red Steel 2 met sales expectations, etc -- the userbase is definitely out there -- I just hope that they take more advantage of the peripheral, because with the creativity of development teams and that device, the possibilities for great games is endless.

I have been thinking along the same lines. We won't see Wii 2 this E3, it's gonna be Wii party, Zelda Wii, the vitality sensor game and WM+ stuff.

I hope we don't see Wii 2 for a long time. I don't feel like I've gotten enough out of this console yet.

i think that, one year of development later, games with motion+ support are ready to be announced and made more frequently, especially when considering every wii being sold from now on has motion+, and the fact that not only the motion+ selling numbers are huge, but zelda will probably come with a bundle. and that's enough reason to guarantee every possible market will have motion+ at home

Yeah that's the rumor going around, it would make sense to make that move, just streamline the whole thing for those who may not have it yet.

Yeah that's the rumor going around, it would make sense to make that move, just streamline the whole thing for those who may not have it yet.

Sure, that might be better for new owners or those who don't have a lot of Wii Remotes (myself included), but I'd hate to be in a position where I have 4 or more Wii Remotes, only to see Nintendo release an improved version of the thing, with MotionPlus technology pre-attached. :P That being said, it's unspecified what the new Wii Remote model really is about, so it's probably best not to make too big a deal about it.

On topic, Nintendo has been somewhat aggressive in trying to get out as many MotionPlus accessories as possible, and it's possibly to do with the idea of making more games that support it. Just about every significant MotionPlus game has offered a bundle with the thing included, including a number of third party titles from various publishers, which suggests that Nintendo is trying to do whatever it can to encourage consumers and developers to support the accessory. I suppose that's a good thing, but there's still the possibility that there will be some developers turning away from M+ because of the fear of having some of the sales of their games sliced if using the accessory is something of a necessity. I don't worry as much about any Nintendo-related developer having these reservations, but third party publishers will probably be much more inclined to use this as a cautionary measure to encourage a project so demanding in motion control that M+ is mandatory.

Personally speaking, I'm still looking to get my hands on a game that actually uses MotionPlus, since I've yet to try it out. Hopefully, some really attractive games will come along where I find myself picking up the add-on for a variety of purposes and can get a good idea of what it brings to the table.

Well that's how technology works, its like being upset because you bought a DVD player and then a TV with a built in DVD player came out. Or even a better example a console upgrade that makes it less likely to break than the older model you bought, you know what I'm talking about lol. But in that case I could understand being a bit "peeved" :P But if you got your 4 remotes no need to run out and buy 4 new ones when you can just get the M+ attachment. I would rather spend an extra 10 on a bundle or 20 than 50 bucks just so that I don't have to go through the arduous task of clipping it in place lol. But since I don't have WM+ if the did come out with this, I would buy 1, I only have two remotes.

^Touche. :P

I only have one Wii Remote myself, so at this point, all it takes is one of those Game/MotionPlus bundles for me to have the best of both worlds. That probably would have been Wii Sports Resort a while ago if I had the money to pick it up. lol

I have 4 wiimotes too, but if they just re-released the wiimote with built in WM+, I'd be fine. A normal wiimote with WM+ plugged into the bottom would be equally as good...just a bit larger.

Zelda Wii will get the ball rolling on motion plus support on Wii. Nintendo has to meet Wii gamer's expectation of motion controlled gaming before they release their next console.

I think Sony will push them to because of Move...which actually seems to have a lot more support than what I thought it would.

That would rock if true, but I wouldn't expect it to happen. For Nintendo to go in the motion plus direction they would have to announce a crapload of completely unknown games. They have a lot on their plate right now what with Zelda still being developed, probably Pikmin 3 considering that Miyamoto has talked about it. And the 3DS which would take a lot of resources I'm guessing. By Nintendo standards, this E3 looks too full already. Nah, maybe I'm being pessimistic. The only motion plus games coming up are Flingsmash and Aragorn's Quest (also going to PSMove. Should be an interesting comparison.) Nintendo make more M+ games!
