I think Dragon Quest 5 would make a good mini-series (big made-for-tv movie). But I can't go into too many details without spoiling it for someone. I could see following along with the story; of course, certain choices could affect the story, although only slightly. Don't know how certain things would be dealt with since only one course of action could be taken. I guess you could have an interactive movie version where you can still make the same choices and see the movie play out slightly differently.
[QUOTE="TriniPlayer"]Grand theft auto:chinatown wars will make a great movie. All they have to do is just use the orginal storyline in the game.martinX3X
that would pwn!!
for sure i could go for that. but seriously wasnt there a topic like this about 24 hours ago??
God i hope nobody makes a movie about a ds game, that would be an awful idea. Videogames and movies should not be mixed together!wescashX men origins:wolverine turn out to be a excellent game based on the movie

i mostly mean videogames to movies, cause indeed there are an adequate amount of quality movie to game adaptations

wow ur kool i wrote the same thing in a post on this boardyesterday http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26962405&tag=topics;title
...it was an entirely different topic. I think Hotel Dusk would be a great movie. They'd have to tie up more loose ends than they did in the video game, though.for sure i could go for that. but seriously wasnt there a topic like this about 24 hours ago??

When i read the words MOVIE and DS the firstthing that poped up in y head was TWEWY. I'd love it if they made a movie of the world ends with you! so many people would go watch it! ooh and also the new kingdom hearts game! i love games by square!

I see what you mean now.wolverine is like the only game that turns out to be excellent from the movie and alot other games like hulk and iron man fail to do so.Fail. Wolverine is mediocre at best. Eventhe Hulk games (alsoaverage) were better. The only time a movie has translated into a gamenoticeably wellwas in the case of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. Transformers worked decently, better than Hulk, Wolverine, etc... but was onlya fairly good game, nothing great. I lol'd at you saying Wolverine is excellent, then lol'd even harder when you said that other movie-based games failed to be what Wolverine is . Go play Riddick, it's not only an amazing movie to videogame game, but also one of the greatest games of the 2000s.
To answer the TC though, no, just no. DS games would be translated into horrible movies that are unenjoyable in every sense, unless you're one of the VERY shallow movie watchers who appreciates garbo like that Dragonball movie or the Street Fighter movies.
Movies to games could be functional if done right though, like Riddick. Riddick was rare though. Very, very rare...

You have to be kidding me,i think you need to go back and play that game cause xplay, gametrailers, ign and even gamespot said that it was great and alot of people on the xbox and ps3 forums would agree so as well cause they talk about how great it was for a game that was made from a movie.I think you fail to understand what a great game this really is.Pokemon Mystery Dungeon FTW! But not as a movie, but a TV special. If anyone bashs this, I will remind you it's my opnion, it that bashing it is stupid and useless, as I will continue to say Mystery Dungeon.

Critics are the same people who said that GTA was a perfect game, even thought it consisted of several glitches, gameplay flaws, lackluster moments and so on. What the critics say means pretty much nothing, so using that to fuel your argument is irrational. It's like saying 50 Cent is amazing because the critics and industrial world have eaten him up and tons of people have bought his albums. Popularity does not equate to quality.
But if you really want to take this to the critics, Wolverine received a 75 on metacritic, even after getting tons of badly done, poorly informed 9/10s from no name reviewers. 75 is not great. 75 is good, average. Nothing more. Now go look up mediocre in the dictionary. What does it mean? Average or moderate, most commonly. So, no, I am not kidding you :|. Just don't reply to me lol... you're not getting any where and have no argument to form.
Saying Wolverine is a good basis and reference point for how to make above-average, great movie-based games is irrational, because technically the game is average, plot-wise and development-wise (just like the disgraceful movie...), the game is mediocre, and according to the critics, the game is mediocre.
Replying to someone who said Riddick is a good reference point for movie-based games by saying that Wolverine is, is just laughable. No disrespect, but seriously? Atleast come up with an argument that pushes your point, not some "well the critics and fans liked it (which was half wrong) so it must be good... go play that game again" stuff :|.
And just to prove how wrong you are, to an even further extent...
Gametrailers gave it a 72, which not great by their scale, or any scale.
Gamespot gave it a 70 (or 7.0) which is not great by their scale either, and is actually closer to their Fair rating than their Great rating.
IGN gave it a 7.8, which AGAIN, is not great by their scale. It is in the upper-good ranks, barely above, you guessed it, average :o.
Xplay doesn't even show up on metacritic, so that must be a no-name, garbo review site . Even Giantbomb shows up and that thing is run by Jeff G :|
Just to keep going though... crediting REAL, ESTABLISHED game reviewers...
GamePro gave it a 6 ( ), which is FAR from great.
GameSpy gave it a 6 as well :|... again, far from great.
1up gave it a 58 ( even a bigger  )... which is even farther from great.
So have fun listening to Xplay and those other no-names, who even in their great numbers cannot bring this game higher than a 7.5 on metacritic with exaggerated, horrible reviews. Go read one of those things andsee if you can seriously challenge my point
Grand theft auto:chinatown wars will make a great movie. All they have to do is just use the orginal storyline in the game.TriniPlayer
Any GTA could make a great movie, especially vice city...oh wait there's scarface already...well you get my point.
@elpooz- Calm down. He has the right to like a game more than you. What critics say does matter, but it is hilarious how you say they don't and then make an entire post of critics scores :S Try to express your opinion without being so blatantly insulting next time.Taylor_B

You people need to grow up and learn how to take someone else's argument instead of getting all sadface about it.
Hypocritical in that you want your opinion to count but you completely discount someone else's. I'm not getting "all sadface." I've never played the game and probably never will. I'm just trying to help you out. If you're actually here in this forum to discuss ds games, you'll get much better discussions without being rude. And tell me what part of that was hypocritical lol. Don't worry, I'll wait....

No, I challenged his opinion. He made a statement, and I opposed it with an argument. If someone states someone, it is open to be criticizedand challenged. I'm not discounting his opinion, simply challenging the statement he made with an intelligent argument. He can think whatever he want, but if he is going to make certain views public, WHILE saying that I am wrong, then he should be ready to justify that and ready for me to challenge what he has said and attempt to prove him wrong. I respect his opinion, I just don't agree with it, so I expressed that. And I could care less if I'm being rude in your opinion, because most people who don't have BPD or some other emotional issue will look to posts for discussion, not nice, jolly comments.

On topic...
I still stand by what I said. DS games would not make good movies...
Oh and Mr. RE avatar... Goldeneye PWNS Wolverine as well. So both that AND Riddick are much better movie-based games, making your statements about Wolverine even more laughable
ok really now, back on topic.
I just don't see it working... I can't imagine an actor pulling off Zelda or Link or other Nintendo characters. The Mario movies were decent, but those were based on eaaarly Mario. I don't think that kind of good game-based movie could be produced again.

Can we drop this now? I'm pretty sure I've made my point(s) and personally don't care what you have to say at this point as you are repeating yourself. Next time, let him be a big boy and fight his own battles.
Back on topic....... AGAIN
Wasn't there a pretty good Sonic cartoon movie based on the games =/ ?

There was a Sonic cartoon series too I believe...
Oh waaaait... Mortal Kombat.... Completely forgot about that. Those movies were OK. Not terrible like the SF ones... But they had some iffy moments. I guess if a decent movie can be made out of a fighting game with no plot and a dude with 4 arms, a decent movie can be made out of TWEWY and such ... A FF4 movie could be good actually. If they made it cartoon like those other ones... those 3dish cartoon ones were rather enjoyable.

i would like a twewy movie, but maybe a cartoon one would be for the best. im not thinking 3d either. just plain cartoon.
live action would be garbage, i suppose. i've seen pictures of twewy cosplays and they looked like...well...GARBAGE.
Hold on,you mean to tell me that all of this was going on just because you wanted to prove that a game a better than the next?and then you went and research all of the different scores for wolverine just to prove a point?.Well, let me just say that i have to agree with taylor here and say that you haven't proven anything cause its just your opinion and i never once once said anything bad about the chronicles of riddick but i enjoyed wolverine more than riddick. Its obvious that you would want come come back and fight again over which game is better but here is an idea,go to the xbox360 forums, make a thread saying which game is better?Wolverine or Riddick.Just by judging by your avatar,it look obvious that you like vin diesel so that could be why you are so protective over yuh boy.TriniPlayer
:|
Nas is in my avatar, not Vin Diesel. And I'm done talking to you guys . You have formed no argument, so you can sit here and throw your opinion around some more, it's all good. You have proved nothing or proved nothing I have said wrong, but I have proved you wrong. We have moved on, so it doesn't really matter. Stop derailing this thread.
Just to chime in, if I made that thread,Riddick would win by a mile.
Anyway...
TC, you didn't enjoy those FF Animated films?
