[QUOTE="Staccat0"][QUOTE="Jaysonguy"] Yeah but things change as far as release dates
Â
I'd also like to point out to the original poster that Metroid is not being held back because of sales. That sales quote is how he judged the last Metroid game and how well it wqas recievedÂ

1st when you say something you don't know for fact, or you know can change... thats still lying.
2nd, he tries to dodge a question by implying he was misunderstood about 1st party Nintendo titles. The journalist was good enough to bust him and point out his EXACT quote. He then backtracked cuz he'd been caught ... lying.
3rd, thats not just how HE evaluated MP2, but how RETRO STUDIOS evaluated the game too... Unless he's lying:)He said
"Where is Metroid? Metroid is not going to ship by June. We've announced all of our games through the end of June. And the fact with Metroid is we want to make sure that that game is perfect. Unfortunately, Metroid Prime 2 didn't live up to our expectations, it didn't live up to Retro's expectations--
Q: Is that in terms of sales or the actual game itself?
From a sales standpoint. I think we were all happy with the product itself. Certainly it won quite a bit of critical acclaim, but the sell-through wasn't what we wanted it to be."
So they want to be better than MP2 in terms of sales... not critical acclaim. You have to read in between the lines with these PR guys.
So they're trying to maximize sales. So what? How else are they going to finance future games?
Theres nothing wrong with that at all.I was just trying to dispel any ideas of Nintendo being "good guys" and MS and Sony being "greedy." If it doesn't apply to you then it doesn't concern you. My comments on the subject are directed at fanboys, not level headed gamers.
