Red Steel has 4 player versus. De Blob has a couple of cool 4 player modes (you have to unlock them in the campaign though). As Bruno said, Guitar Hero/Rock Band are great games as well.

never, EVER recommend red steel to a poor soul! just gonna mention one problem with the multiplayer: splitscreen = ridiculously small space to move the aim... N64 graphics, terrible controls... ok i couldnt resist...
