Which game is more artistic? Both are completely hand-drawn, but in my opinion Muramasa wins.

Muramasa doesn't look like any other great-quality game because at first look, it looks like a 2D DS game. That's only because it's hand-drawn, though.

That's a tough one. They're both really beautiful games. But I'm gonna have to give the nod to Okami. Because the fact that it was able to make the game look like a Japanese watercolor painting -- and in 3D no less -- is incredible. Normally, games that attempt to make a visually pleasing game from an artistic perspective, end up being 2D games. And that's fine, because they look amazing.

It's just...3D games like that are a little less common. Which is why I think Okami is better. Because that particular visual style hasn't been done in any other 3D (or 2D, as far as I know) game to date, which makes it a very unique style. Because no one else has tried to do it.

Okami easily, its not hard to stick some pretty art in a 2D background.. to do it in 3d, thats awesome.

I've looked and both gmaes have excellent arrt direction. The problem is judging Okami, because people have 2 preferances. Either the PS2 style which really does look like a moving Japanese painting, or Wii style which is far more colorul and bright while retaining a magnificent backrounds and art style (in the sense that nothing looks like a generic enemy, place or character that is in another gamel. Personally the music in Muramasa was not inspiring to me and didn't complete the "portrait". So I got to go with Okami Wii (I prefer bright colors)

yeah I was talking gameplay mostly. I don't get it. I have nothing against 2D gameplay (2D mario is better than 3D mario by miles imo) but I don't get it. Everyone says I'm nuts but everytime I watch the gameplay I'm like "meh" just not my thing I suppose.

right now, i give the edge to okami. the artstyle is actually an integral part of the gameplay. muramasa looks like it will be a beautiful game, but it would play the same with or without its artstyle.

Will Muramasa be sold at 30-40$ or higher?

AjaxNeron

I'm guessing it'll be sold at either $40 or $50. Those are standard prices for new retail titles on the Wii, and I expect that Muramasa will go with one of those price points at launch. As doing so will make the publisher and developer a good amount of money at launch.

By that logic. all realistic 3-D games are more than beautifulthan 2-D, completely hand drawn games and titles like Muramasa could NEVER compete.

Okami, the uniqueness and art style of Muramasa wears off quite quickly for me while Okami has depth in it being 3d.

artstyle is a hard thing to judge, because it's usually subjctive, but in this case Okami is almost factually the winner because it uses it's style as a gameplay element. Not to mention, I just think it looks way better. Much props to Okami.
