[QUOTE="EndlessPunisher"][QUOTE="comstrikeiscool"][QUOTE="WiiMan21"]Ok so what happend was....
I was going to get Wii fit for part of my graduation present, so we went to wallmart, looked around a bit, no Wii Fit, so my grandma asks if I wanted to get another game and get wii fit later so I told her Okami. So we get the Okami game and just as the guy was ringing the game up at the register my grandma asked me if my mom was ok with me getting the game, so she called my mom and I had the game all purchased in the bag and everything, and my mom said no and maybe another time when shes with me. :( So we had to go up to the customer service area and rerturn my game, and to top that off they were a dollar short so now I only have 59$, not 60. =(

Are you saying you didn't count the money when they gave it to you or they ran out of money?
Sometimes stores, usually like to rip you off a dollar or so. And trust me, its no mistake. Happend to me before.Don't you people count your money? I count it at the grocey store, bank, retail store....always count your money.
Actually, I did count my money as I was walking out of the store, but I didn't think a dollar short is a big deal, I could just go home and find a dollar under my couch or something.
Well I'll add another sad story that Just happened about an hour ago (I don't want to make another Topic about it because it has nothing to do with the Wii), But my friends neighborhood is gone from a huge storm the ripped through Minnesota, a lot my friends live in that area and stuff. enough of the bad stuff lets go to the good stuff! I might be able to get Wii Fit Tomorrow (And maybe Okami if My mom lets me).
That was basically a good and a bad story in one.
EDIT: I actually got some funny things that happend when the storms happend.
Haha, oh god... That reminds me of the time when I was twelve. My Mom made me return Ocarina of Time.... cause it had ghosts in it..... WTF!! I was just getting into it too! Can you even imagine??? Freaking Poes!!! What utter BS! And I wasn't allowed to buy Banjo Kazooie cause it had a Witch on the cover....
Hooray for being an adult!!! Wooo!
That said, my mom let me get the SNES Mortal Kombat 2 when it released, and I was 14 then.

[QUOTE="banzai_sword"]Your 14 and your graduating from High School... Middle School, ok. Uh, my should have just told your grandma that you talked this over with your mom already and she's perfectly fine with it. Oh yeah and go to court with that, Walmart not giving you all the money back.WiiMan21
I'm not going to lie to my grandma, she bought me a Psp, and a 300$ bike. and shes like really nice n stuff, so I'm not going to lie, but I do like the suing idea. =D
I guess that you never heard of little white lies that never hurt anyone? That's really sad.
This is sad that your mother is so protective, my parents cared so little it bordered on neglect, I remember my favorite movie at 8 years old was Silence of the Lambs, so you can see they had no problem showing me R-rated movies or letting me play mature games, because doing so matured me so that I was far more responsible than other kids my age. But on the other hand, it really depends on who you are, some kids are exposed to the same thing and end up as spoiled little jerks, and grow up even worse. (Just in case anybody is wondering about how I ended up after being exposed to sex(my dad gave me "the talk" in kindergarten)/violence/profanity, I'm in college now, have no criminal history(no tickets even), and neither of my parents have ever heard me use profanity in their lives.) Nurture or Nature, you decide.
TLDR:I played violent games and turned out fine/better than most.
[QUOTE="FlameBeast4000"]But personally I don't want to play Okami, I mean it's a good game but from what I've seen from it, there's too much magic. But unfortunatley, I'm not even allowed to play any Zelda game, (there was a time where we weren't allowed to play Mario becasue it had too much magic. Sigh, I feel like I'm missing out on life, but it does make life easier.

Man I feel sorry for people like you. Are you Penacostal(sp) ? Jeeze it's just fake... Who cares
No, I'm full gospel. I guess we'll see who's right when the time comes. You'll care alot.

What's really sad is that you feel it's better for him to lie to get a video game. Yeah, he lost a dollar when he returned it -- lesson learned, count your money -- but his mom and grandma were being responsible adults.

No, I'm not saying that I'm a saint. And I don't know how you could have gotten that from what I said. And yes your're probably correct about the environment people grow up in most likely affects if you're going to become a killer/something magical or not. But violent/magical games do have an influence in how you act, "ideas in, ideas out." Several things I've seen could easily be traced back to games. For instance, a person I know once ran up to this other guy and nearly broke his neck, after he played SC:CT. Another person I know has gotten much more violent in every way, after he got GTA LCS on the PSP. What I think is that the only reason you brought in the topic of violent video games is because it's almost impossible to defeat, because people will always say that it's not real, so it doesn't matter. But the bible also says that you shouldn't corrupt your mind. As for the disney comment, if you think it's good to know that and that it will open up our minds, is it also good to learn about every abomination under the sun at such a young age? After all, it'll open up our minds. Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the people who invented the lightbulb and the phone both Christians? I highly doubt that they used magic to open up there imaginations. Oh, by the way, I just found out that Penacostal and full gospel are the same thing, my bad.

Bell and Edison studied science. they were scientists. science is the reason we have modern technology. magic is make-believe. no one can get hurt playing a game with magic as long as they are taught it is not real. for example, if a child plays Superman and then jumps out his window thinking he's gonna fly, that's not cool. but telling your children they should stay away from stories with a fantasy component because they might be exposed to something bad is sending the wrong message. there cannot be anything bad about something that does not exist.

Just because you haven't expierienced something doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. People think that there are aliens, but some people say there isn't any just because they haven't seen one. Also by saying that magic doesn't exist you're saying that sorcery and witchcraft are also not in existence. That means that you don't have a religion. Which makes me wonder, are you an evolutionist?
