name the ONE main reason you bought a 3DS

I eventually buy all consoles as each has exclusives I want to play. My previous Nintendo Handheld was a GameBoy Advance. Kept meaning to buy a DS but they kept bringing out new versions... the 3DS was the break point.

Monster hunter 3g, Metal gear solid 3d(2012), ghost recon shadow wars(have), luigi mansion 2(2012) and to play ds gams like metroid prime hunters and such that I missed out on

I bought is solely for the 3D effect. If it didn't have it I wouldn't have bought it. As the graphics with the 3D off are pretty lame. But turn the 3D on and the games look GLORIOUS. Truly spectacular. I find myself just watching Mario Kart 7 replays after each race just to drool over the great 3D graphics. :cool:

Do you guys think the games are getting better at utilising the 3D effect? Super Mario 3D Land was gorgeous and I actually found Iw as playing better with it turned on as I was able to better position myself in the world. In MK7 it's just eye candy but it still looks heaps better.

Other games (like Tales of the Abyss) just look lame.

Graphics upgrade.

I hate the DS' graphics, as they are blocky and blurry as hell. It is almost impossible to enjoy a 3d style game on the regular DS.

Still waiting for a new pokemon game.

I wasn't going to, but then I saw the limited edition black Zelda 25 years box...and I couldn't resist :cry: I love it so much...

I bought it pretty much exclusively for the 3D effect.

After enjoying the original gameboy, gameboy color, gba, and Ds so much, it was only natural for me to get the next one. I haven't played consoles seriously since Snes. Also, the 3DS has a fire emblem game and Tales of Abyss coming soon.

Animal Crossing and Paper Mario.

Surprise, the only two first party 2010 titles yet to have a release date or title.

The price ($170) and a new colour. Besides I got it for $85 by trading my Cobalt DS Lite and some games at a video game specialty store that has everything from the old NES to current stuff.

Nintendo consoles are the only ones I buy almost instantly because their first party is always extremely strong. That is why I bought the 3DS

Tales of the Abyss was at the top of the list. Of course I love all the 1st party stuff but probably wouldn't have got one so soon if it wasn't for this. We missed out on the PS2 originalin the UK!

I got enough play time/enjoyment out of Pokemon Pearl (Not to mention Platinum, Heart Gold, and Black) to justify buying a DS.
