I have both of them on my DS library, personally both of them are great games, different genres but each experience is worth to live it!! If you have to pick just one, go for AW: DoR it's a solid solo 'n multiplayer package!
we're talking two completely different gameplays. starfox is entirely stylus based, and i think it's really fun.
advance wars days of ruin is no touch screen, turn based strategy.
they're both fun. if you can get them both cheap, get them both. i dont know why no one likes starfox command, it's a great game.
Advance Wars is great. Good online, excellent strategic depth, hotseat multiplayer and level of difficulty as well as perfectly balanced units.
Star Fox on the other hand has less going for it. Great control and good graphics can't fully compensate for a short campaign, poor multiplayer/online and plain bad writing.
The Sham-Wow guy always makes me laugh...
... that said, I am a flight combat/ space combat freak... I even played through that Millenium Falcon game on the GBA (yeah, I know... right? Hopeless - I'll play anything) and I really didn't enjoy the over-all concept of "Star Fox" even though I'm a fan from back on the N64 days as far as the Fox is concerned. It felt too much like a rail-shooter (preset courses and you shoot as much as you can) than a space combat game to me...
"AW: Days of Ruin" is a great series, but you need to enjoy Turn-Based Strategy games... if you're not into Chess, forget it.
