Since the other thread has been hijacked beyond recognition, this is worthy of a new one.
These images were ripped off of Gamestop.
Looks promising so far. Can't wait for some video.

The second picture is simply gorgeous. The first and third have amazing atmosphere. The first kind of reminds me of something out of Metroid Prime.
Yes, they are small, but that is usually indicative of the product not being final. These could get better.
Also, thanks to naruto3336 for pointing these out.
....... am i the only one who thinks it should look way better than it is to be considered "good"? the first metroid prime did better, and it's a freaking gamecube game.BrunoBRS
I agree
I like that the guy in the second pic is wearing perfectly angular gauntlets, to fit perfectly over his deformed arms I bet.
Not impressed at all

Here we go again..... For the time, no doubt Metroid Prime 1 was a great looking game, but I think too many people are looking at the game through an old romantic memory.

the first prime was the last in the series i played, and i only played it on the trilogy. let me say, then, that prime 3 (a 2007 wii game) looks waaaaaaay better than this.I'm so psyched for this game. I'm curious as to how the game is gonna pick up seeing as how the last game ended. Anyways, I think the story will lead to December 2012, since that's when the Anunaki Elites are released from exile and go to Iraq to activate the ASE to destroy the world. You guys are so full of it. I like Metroid Prime too, but you can't honestly say that its graphics were better.

Even Metroid Prime 3 doesn't have the technical quality of HV's new shooter. You may like the art direction better, but the textures, lighting, and shadows are actually better in the newer game.

And I'll third that.
The game looks absolutely awefull for a current gen fps imo........

would've helped comparing if your pics (even if taken from gamespot) weren't so low-res and grainy. and yes, i still think it looks better. but if you want to keep arguing, here's a bad-quality image of prime 3. just look at the charge shot and it should be enough.and here's some snow for you
Yay! I just bought this issue of Nintendo Power, literally about an hour ago and read some of the article and man....it sounds HREAT! These pics look awesome as well :)
Loks better than the last pics..except for that snow level and it's weird gunMarcster1994
That gn looks remeniscent of the Deatomizer from the first game. one of my favorites in multiplayer.

Again, I think you are still looking at art more than anything else. I too like the look of the Metroid Prime series.

The first Gun in those picture sets look like something from Perfect Dark.
painguy1
lol yeah it does. i immediatly thought RCP 90 from goldeneye, and AR34
idk lol KINDA similar
Yeah I was think that too! except It was more of like an enhanced Laptop gun.
Do you remember even papers and posters were flat textures. These pictures are much nicer.I can't quite tell from those pictures, but I hope that they did what I said they should do, which is to stop relying on textures so much to create contours in the environmental models. That made everything just look terrible.
GabuEx
[QUOTE="LastRambo341"]not to mention that the game isn't finishedGabuEx
I used that line regarding the last one after seeing it at PAX, but the graphics honestly didn't really change much in the last year of the game's development.
That does not necessarily mean that it'll happen to this game. But anyways, read my entire post. Graphics are judged in person, not by screenshots.Metroid Prime was a Gamecube game and the only reason it looked so good on the cube was because nintendo made it and they make AMAZING game graphics look at Twilight Princess it looks better than some wii games and it was on the cube. Besides you guys are acting as if you think this game was going to have AWESOME graphics. The game does look good but remember it is from High Voltage Softwaare and they are not the greatest develepor in the land. Also the gun from the first screen looked like a gun off of a wiiware game called onslaught.
This game is going to be good IMO.
BTW Metroid Prime is my 4th favorite game of all time!!! I rated it 10/10
if "art" makes the game look better, then you can call what i'm talking about art. prime looked better, let's not even start talking about prime 3, a three year old game that still looks better than the conduit 2and here's a snow pic for you.
Again, I think you are still looking at art more than anything else. I too like the look of the Metroid Prime series.

Who is smart enought to realize that GRAPHICS CANNOT BE JUDGED FROM SCREENSHOTS? Theres a difference >.> , not to mention that the game isn't finished Jason, as usual, will keep on hating and act unpleasable even if the game turns out 10/10. I'm not saying that it'll turn out 10/10LastRambo341They can. Its not 100% accurate but if one game has a bunch of ugly screenies and another has a bunch of lovely screenies, which game is gonna look better on my TV?
Looks ugly, again. The Conduit would be my least liked Wii game/series, I think. Especially since it gets so much unwarrented praise. Was playing Timesplitters 2 at the weekend, looked better than the Conduit 1. [QUOTE="LastRambo341"]Who is smart enought to realize that GRAPHICS CANNOT BE JUDGED FROM SCREENSHOTS? They judge it by playing it in person, not going on the internet and looking for a screenshot like unprofessionals For example, when I played Red Steel 2 the other day, it looks wayyyy better than the screenshots and Internet videos that I have seen

But every game looks better in person and in motion. We can take that as standard for every screenshot for every game. It's something to keep in mind, not a reason to dismiss all screenies and videos :?

Awww no, since everyone here, besides me, follows GS. The reviewer gave the good and bad things about the 1st conduit. He said "Technically impressive visuals" So, I guess the 1st one didn't look ugly ;), but the single player for some strange reason looks better than the multiplayer What conclusions can we make? Well....we can play the game like how it should be
