I can't watch this video at the moment (Have no Speaker right now) can someone tell me what it is about???
Basically the xbox 360 will last until 2015, and it will have motion sensor technology, there was another battlefield game, and the next nintendo handheld was delayed from being released due to the success of the nintendo dsi.I can't watch this video at the moment (Have no Speaker right now) can someone tell me what it is about???

i hope it has backward compatibility with the DS.... some DS games are good and i think i won't leave them for a long time.... if not....... then i have to take really good care of my DS... unless they come up with something so innovative that it makes us all forget the DS ever existed....
This was for the E3 of 09. So it wasn't about the dsi. The dsi is already out.dude that was the dsi in the video that they were talking about
izdan
they shouldnt have even released the Dsi in the first place. they shuld have just released the next gen handheld and put in the Dsi features in that.
Well if its already finished being made than when they release it they better release the English one at the same time or vry close to the same time as the japanese one.
What bothers me a lot is when the first handheld is released, you will have to expect there to be newer versions of it later on. That will piss me off. I only got lucky with the ds lite because when I was thinking to buy a ds, the ds lite was coming out at that time.they shouldnt have even released the Dsi in the first place. they shuld have just released the next gen handheld and put in the Dsi features in that.

From their business standpoint, yes they should release the DSi. Its selling very well, which gives them more money until the new handheld hits the market.they shouldnt have even released the Dsi in the first place. they shuld have just released the next gen handheld and put in the Dsi features in that.

From a business standpoint yes but i dont rlly care about that. Nintendo makes tons of money already. According to the video the next handhelds already been completed. The vid said the only reason they arent releasing it is cause of how good the ds is doing. The dsi is only gng to make sales better. Than they are prbly gng to wait a while to release the next handheld cause sales are high, and by the time they release it, they will probably already have an upgrade to that finished which they could have released instead.
Yeah, i suppose they've been working on it all this time due to them not thinking the DS would be so successful. All they'll do now is wait for the DS sales to slowly fall, then release the info on this new handheld. If the DS hadn't sold so well, i wouldn't of doubted that we would of seen this new handheld this E3.
No it wasn't, considering that fact that she said "although the company decided not to release the new system due to the strengh and momentum of the current DS" by "current DS" would mean the DSi (since this video is new). But why the heck a new one? isn't the DS enough for now? and the way they where talking about it I would say it is not the DS family. So does this mean no more Dual Screen?dude that was the dsi in the video that they were talking about

Who knows when that will be, the DS has been the top seller for how long now?
That said, while it kind of bums me out because I love the DS announcing a new handheld makes sense. We are coming up on 5 years with the DS which is the average lifespan for systems.
They better put this on hold for a while. I just bought a dsi at launch and I don't want to buy a new handheld in a couple years. :(

Could have released anew handheldinstead? Why would Ninty release a new handheld at the current one's peak? I think it was a great idea to go half way by releasing the DSi. The DSi's success is too great to even think of replacing it.The most I'd expect to see out of E3 '010 is Nintendorevealing what the handheld is like and stating they'll make a release date when the DSi's sales die down dramatically. Looking at the Wii's success in sales, I can't see the DSi going anywhere for a long time.
yeah i didnt get that lucky so i ended up getting ds phat and the i bought ds light and recently i bought dsi

Wow, are you rich or something? You bought 3 versions of the handheld? Anyways, I might be put in a similar situation, i mean i don't know if i can wait by not buying the first version of the handheld.[Could have released anew handheldinstead? I dont think so. its good for them because they can make some extra money. by releasing the dsi it is just gng to take even a longer time for sales to die down. If they hadnt even made the dsi sales would die down quicker and they could release the next handheld which is already completed.

You fail to understand Nintendo's reasoning. Read the article on the homepage and maybe a page or two in the Iwata Asks section on Nintendo.com. Nintendo doesn't want tokill the DSwhen it still works for them, at the time being, better than their new handheld.

What article where? I cant find it. Anyways i just think they shouldnt have released the DSi. They could have put something like the the dsi shop on the next gen handheld. I think they shouldnt have made a third Ds. They could have just let the sales drop on the Ds lite and than release the next handheld. They only released the Dsi to make money. And than if the Ds is doing so well why should they have already finished making the next handheld? They could keep working on it and improving on it instead of finishing it so early especially if its gng to take so long for Ds sales to drop. Right now they are prbly looking on ways to improve the next handheld but they prbly wont even do it with all the time they have. They will prbly just use those ideas to make a slightly improved version of the same thing. And I would be fine with Dsi if they hadnt already finished the next handheld so early. But they did finish the next handheld early when instead they shouldnt have even made the Dsi and just put its features on to the next handheld.
Until I see a NEW handheld I will stick with my phat DSZumaJones07I could of quoted a number of people and continued the discussion, but for now I will have to agree with this. Twice over.

I am truly dissappointed. The only good part about this situation is that Nintendo gets some more time to improve their new handheld. And its obvious Nintendo would do this though. The PSP is going on its fourth iteration while the DS has only had three. Its how these companies work for maximum profit. They both compete against eachother but in the mean time co-operate by not releasing their new product in order to keep sales going. If one released a new project while the other was in the last generation, its obvious the newer console would win out by sales due to more advanced technology, more features and so on. Think of it as Pepsi and Coca Cola. They are constantly competing with eachother which makes them look like the main factor, the best product. The thing is they work together. They own the market so that they get maximum sales and other products get miniscule sales. The only difference is... Pepsi and Coca Cola are made by the same company.... the same company that makes Kraft Dinner, Cigarettes and so on. Fact: They've found substances of tobacco in Kraft Dinner in some occassions considering their cigarettes are made in the same factory as their Kraft Dinner.I think you guys may be looking at this the wrong way. From what I understand, they completely canned the handheld altogether, and are not planning on releasing it at all. It's all part of research and development. Just because something is created, doesn't mean it has to be released. Iwata commented that there has been a lot of hardware they've created over the years that they never released.
And certainly, Nintendo isn't lacking the funds to spend on R&D.
Wait wait wait...will this be an all new DS like DS2 or something or just another revision of the current DS? I am on the verge of buying a DS. Actually I had a hard time choosing between DS and Xbox360 (call me a freak but I'm a JRPG fan and DS simply has much more games there) and now this? I won't buy a DS if there's gonna be a new one in like 1-2 years.pooyanhThis will be an all new handheld. Of course, whether or not it will have backward compatibility, we don't know, that depends on how similar to the DS it is. But at any rate, as I pointed out, this handheld is not something that Nintendo plans on releasing. It's just something they did with R&D funds, but decided not to release due to the consistency of DS sales still. Don't expect a new handheld to release until the DS slows down, which isn't happening for quite awhile now that the DSi is picking up steam.

"But when we are launching new hardware, the most important thing is to sustain the momentum. If introducing new hardware won't do anything to do that, well..."That's a quote from the article. In Japan, the DS' sells were falling, but releasing their new handheld wouldn't have made things better. Instead, they made the hardware they have more interesting. The DS' sales are double of what they were before and now they don't need the new handheld; at least for the time being.Do you understand now?!?!
This little altercation is destroying my faith in humanity... As is system wars. People are making less and less sense these days...

Can u just post the link to the whole article?
Anyways i still dont believe they should have released the Dsi if the next handheld would be completed so shortly afterwards. Instead of releasing the dsi they should have spent that time, you know making quality games or getting games released faster if sales are dropping. And i dont see how releasing a new system wouldnt pick up sales. the Dsi isnt even the next generation handheld its just an upgrade and it picked up sales so why couldnt the actual next gen handheld pick up sales? Releasing the Dsi would make more sense to me if they didnt already have the next handheld completed. They could have started work on the next handheld after the release of the DSi, not have it done already.
I dont like how they make their money off of making more and more upgrades to their current systems instead of releasing new ones. I think they should upgrade a system 1 time at most. The Ds lite for instance could have been the Dsi. Also the only really interesting thing i see about the dsi is the dsi shop which could have gone on the next handheld instead.
BTW Didnt someone already post saying the next handheld was canned and wont even be released? If so this doesnt even matter anymore.

1. The article is on the homepage "Nintendo's next handheld canned" or something like that
2. It was canned because of the DSi's success
3. The hardware was the problem, not the software
4. You don't seem to understand how all this works

Dude... This is just what you believe. You`re just a costumer, for you maybe it would be interesting to you if they had launched an ultimate handheld instead, but for them is not that interesting, do you know why? Simple, they are a business, the DS is still selling so what the DSi made is simply boosting the DS overall sales and keeping them lasting longer. THey want to draw as much money as possible from the DS models and since the sales are so good, a new handheld is not the best idea right now from a business standpoint, if they made it, they will wait until the sales start to lower drastically. Ninty simply don`t care what you think about the DS lite or the DSi, if you believe it should be launched instead of the DSi... they simply don`t care (the same applies for others system developers), they care about the statistics and those same statistics proves that the DS is selling very well (google for those and you will see), now keep on the sales until they run dry. If the sales are starting to lower or Ninty rivals are getting the upper hand, them they will see that its the time to release their new handheld. Please Log In to post.
