if i actually got your message right, then you have no idea what you're talking about. EDGE's not a fansite. it's not even a site. it's one of the most important gaming magazines in the UK. think of it as the british EGM, but still running.

I dont care what they think. The only opinion that matters in games I pick out is my own.

This game doesnt look that great, its a recycled game with the same gameplay but improved graphics.

All the side-scrolling Super Mario games have been more or so the same, but is that a bad thing? No, since they are some of the greatest games ever made. Its design and gameplay is time-tested, enduring, and holds up even today. New Super Mario Bros. on the DS followed that tradition but with modern graphics. I expect the same with the Wii version. By the way, I noticed your "currently playing list." Let's see here, Call of Duty World at War, Pokemon Platinum, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Naruto GNT EX3...hmmm...they also all seem like recycled games with the same gameplay from their past iterations, don't you think? But you still enjoy them, as well as I do. Is familiarity a bad thing as long as the game is good? Of course not. New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be good. I think it's the modern day Super Mario console game we've been waiting for. We should wait and see the final product ourselves before we judge it.

Not only it is a major U.K. gaming magazine, but it is also a trade magazine for the video game industry. Think of it as as the Hollywood Reporter or Variety (which gave a notoriously bad review of Super Mario Galaxy full of inaccuracies), both trade magazines for entertainment industry.

Well looking beyond this whole review nonsense, have you guys seen the last video preview on IGN, things are looking great. I noticed toward the end of the video a section where there were a number of Thwomps you had to run under, it looked just like the section from SMB3 World 2 mid level castle, where you have to run under the Thwomps to get to the door. If Nintendo wanted to be devious they could use familiar sequences like that to entice players to use old tactics but toss in a hiccup somewhere to test thier reflexes. I also noticed some nice little details like rope ladders swaying in the wind and the propeller suit blowing away clouds. I'm also happy to see the old SMB3, Toad House, Item Storage and the good old fashioned N card back in action.
