Nintendo 3DS being sold at a LOSS after price drop??!!!

According to destructoid according to bloomberg japan thats the case. I can't read Japanese so I can't read the source article myself and have to go by dtoid....

Either way it isn't that strange in the video game market for a console to be sold at a loss, just have to get those software sales up :)

the cell-phone with 3d is probably the biggest reason for this behind the lagging sales obvious reason. it took over a month or so if i recall to even get the internet browser/3d store up. i think they rushed the 3ds just to get it out before the 3d phone

Somehow I have my doubts about that, Nintendo isn't as big of a company as Sony or Microsoft, they can't afford to take a loss on every unit they sell. So I really hope that's not true. :?Aquat1cF1sh

I just did a quick search on wiki and it says as of 2011 Nintendo has¥1,634,297 million in total assets where as Sony has¥11.22trillion in total assets.

Just from that I'd say Sony stands a faaaaar better chance at taking a hit like this.

yeah but it will increase consumer confidence and then it should sell exponetially( know i didnt spell that right)

but its nintendo they will always make a profit in the end woth the exception of the virtual boy

Maybe they are coming out with a 3DS that is only compatiable with the 3DS games only, and not the DS games. This could replace the current model.Zekiram

Are they going to discontinue DS games eventually? I think I read about that like they will stop making wii games.
