Youtube app would be nice, although I have no need of it myself (still, silly that it doesn't exist). Messaging is a must, though. Same with having friend requests actually sent to the other person, rather than the clunky method of coordinating it on a forum or other means. Link all that into leaderboards, allow challenges to be sent to friends through games. Achievements would be nice too, particularly if they integrated them into the coin system.
Messaging and Youtube 3D. DLC, Demos are confirmed. Same with 3D movies, I just wanna know when. Also Nintendo said they would like to add a messaging system to the 3DS so that's likely to happen. Also I would like to see GBA, Snes come to the VC. I think Indie content would be nice like how the iphone does it and I think developers would think of a lot unique things for the 3DS with 3D gyrocope and such. I think all of this will eventually comes other then indie content.
Can't say I would like achievements/trophies. If games want to implement them, then do it in game. Most of the time they're a waste of time, having been poorly implemented.

Ebook reader would be nice (PDF, epub, mobi, etc.). Coupled with the Nyko Power Pak+, it could be a nice alternative to ereader, tablet, or other such device.

It wasn't first party, but Retro did a great job with the achivements in the Metroid Prime Collection (other than the tradeable rewards, at least). I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't implemented something like that, especially with the ways it could be integrated with the 3DS coin system.
The lack of messaging system is just silly IMO. I hope to have it soon, but its likely we won't get it until never. If that isn't the first thing Nintendo announces for the a system update during this November, then they probably don't care about the feature. YouTube 3D App would be terrific, and is there a 3D Flipnote Studio yet?
I wouldn't mind being able to switch to my next track on DS Sound without opening the system. I'm not sure how they could work that in... maybe the wi-fi button could do it?

Wait... You still need to buy those 500, 800, 1000 Nintendo points when buying eShop games? D: I assumed you didn't with this tax mumbo jumbo. Also, how many points did you have after downloading SML2? Did it take away points from that 500 depending on how much you needed? O.o
