My guess will be a new storeage solution since more companies are taking interest in downloadable content with the Wii and its being drummed up with a few upcoming games (the big one thus far being Guitar Hero: World Tour). A new DS might happen but the DS Lite is still topping charts I wouldn't think Nintendo could be caught up with senseless stuff added onto the DS like a digital camera (doesn't every cell phone these days have a camera?) and music function (doesn't just about every phone do that or at least doesn't everyone have an MP3 player of some sort?). Nintendo has said before their main focus is making games fun and never really cared for multifunction stuff like that.
Its anyone's guess though at this point, though after E3 and Nintendo announcing they'd save the more hard core games for later shows in the year, there could be hope that there could be some good game announcements inline. There's been enough casual announcements this year already, here's to hoping for some more hard core gaming in our future.

*Facepalm* If you havent cought on by now you probably never will...
I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. :|
*Hint* it's naughty and not allowed to be discussed on these forums.
are you kidding? its been like 4 years since DS, about 2? im gonna say 2 since the lite. apple releases a new ipod ever freakin year, if not lessgarrett_duffman
i think apple are doing it every 6 months now, they only just released updated nanos and touches the other week, and they released the smaller nano videos only early this year about february
I really hope not. Several DS games were designed with connectivity to GBA games in mind (ex: Pokemon, Castlevania, Feel the Magic, probably more...) and if they just throw that feature out the window...well, there will be a lot of people with incomplete pokedex's, anyways. lol.[QUOTE="monkeyd_93"]my guess if it were true, there wont be any GBA slot to make it slimmer and keep the price down. IMO a HDD will always be the main attraction if they decide to do it :)Ovirew
Anyways I'm happy with the DS Lite, I don't really think the size and shape of anything needs much adjustment. If they want to keep the console about the same, but make the second screen touch-compatibile and give it better power and stuff, that would be a great enhancement and be worth the money maybe.
correct me if im wrong, but didnt the gameboy advance mini (was thats its name, i forget :P) was excluded of the connection cable port? i think this would be more aimed at people who didnt have a GBA and maybe always busy like it has mp3 and camera and with pokemon platnium coming soon, it will have a better GTS so i suppose it will be easier to complete the national dex. and i do believe that the ds life span is nearing to an end real soon, so if this were true, nintendo are going to try and dry every last dollar on the ds generation before moving onto its next.
If they do have an MP3 player DS,, it could also be a storage solution. If the thing has any kind of hard drive it could plug in via USB to the Wii and act like a removable portable hard drive.
A new DS and storage solution all in one??

Hmm, i never thought of that...

That's a good idea but will mean that people without a DS will basically miss out, unless they make the hdd detachable and compatable with the wii somehow and then would be sold seperatly in stores. I think a good idea would be to have data storage on the net, like your own private server were you can save all data too. Could be abit tricky though
Did they actually say the new product is DS related? I suspect more likely something Wii related or perhaps a new online service that applies to both.
A new DS? No, I don't think so. Possible but unlikely, it has been out for awhile but Nintendo or any other company will milk a product until the sales start to rapidly drop or the demand for a better quality device is higher. Those sales aren't dropping and the demond for a new device isn't very high.
When a new DS is released it will not likely have a camera or an MP3 player. Nintendo focuses on gaming. What they will probably do is make both screens touch or make it just one screen you touch with an optional top one for playing your old DS games. Perhaps something like this: DS 2 rotate screen. They will also improve the graphics and all the other tech etc. I also think they will give DS a small storage space perhaps a flash memory or whatever they use in ipods as it works well for portable devices to save room and not by ridiculously big. They will also probalby have a shop channel for DSware with many ports from Wiiware like Megaman 9 but nothing like Lost Winds. They will also have SD card ports so you can buy and transfer virtual console games between the DS and the Wii. They will probably also do something with Miis, Mobile Mii anybody?

Yes I thought of that as well. I think it is very unlikley that the DS is going to be THE storage solution. Though it is a way to solve the problem for those that do have a DS and a Wii. But those who don't have a DS would not benefit. The net storage is a good idea, though you have the same problem. Those that do not have internet hook up on the Wii could not use the storage.
The storage issue is becoming more and more a problem that needs to be fixed. Even the casual players are now starting to have an issue with it as WiiWare and VC becomes more popular.
I don't know why Nintendo kinda stated what the revamped DS is going to have. All that is going to do is make Sony Copy them yet again.nini200
erm.... last i checked the PSP still doesnt have a touch screen, and the PS3 is very watered down motion sensing, i would quite call it copying...
I highly doubt that is going to be released considering Nintendo is all about video games. Remember how they didn't release the Wii with a DVD player? They focused on the gaming aspect of it. I'm pretty sure they will do the same in the handheld department. Of course, if I am wrong I will admit it, but I don't see that happening.

Well as I said, if I am wrong I will admit it. So here I am eating my own words. I have to admit that I am really surprised....really surprised.
