I notice that at the launch of the DS, Nintendo was really hyping how that the miz would be something in most games that would inhance gameplay. Since then, it's been in like 5 out of 1000 games, and it seems really tacked on. Do you guys think the Mic pretty much failed overall?

yeah:( 2 of my first games used it and it was very fun. But then the ideas just stopped and it became useless in every game

Agreed. If it's not used in an innovative way, it's kind of like the touch screen used in controls- featured, but not required. The thing that irritates me the most is when a game asks you to yell into the mic, but (out of embaressment) I just blow into and that works fine. If I do yell, the game doesn't register loud sounds/ tone, but air pressure. Why?

Bottom line- the only games that intuitively use the mic also use the touch screen, which ironically happens mostly to first party titles.
