Or if anything, make a leaderboard for Super Smash Bros Brawl.3rd_child
agree.. maybe it would be a leaderboard for allgames with matches..
EDIT: MK = mortal kombat?? bc if it is for mario kart that is good :)
Maybe this channel will be updated as you play more games that feature a similar function, displaying all leaderboards of the games you own in the same channel. Thing is, more ranked online games will be required.Wintry_Flutist
Well the thing is they made a whole channel for MP3 demo and are not using it for anything else so its looking grim.
Also there are some other online leaderboards specifically MoH: H2. also if they wnated to they could update Brawl in the future for online leaderboard.
At least they are doing something to try and improve online. Maybe with the release of more online games, we will see a universal leader boards channel.
Why would you make a whole channel for one game that is so inefficient. They should make a leaderboard channel that is pipelined into all games leaderboards. To top that off make a VC channel so my games are not sprawled everywhere. Nintendo's interface is good but decisions like these are counterintuitive. This is not something that takes a year to change. They could change this next week if they wanted to but they wont :(Cyber-
Maybe they will change it. Ninetendo is always full of surprises. And besides, for all we know, the source you got this from could be wrong and the channel might actually be an "all games" leaderboard channel. who knows...'cept nintendo.

Your kinda wrong. Nintendo already made a channel that is like the MP3 channel, only its for all Nintendo Wii games. Its called the Everyone's Nintendo Channel or something along those lines. Nintendo needs to learn how to make a practical interface. Example, instead of making a seperate channel for a VC game why not make a VC game channel that has those VC games in them? greenghost123
LMAO i know everything is backwards. Though I do love the actual idea of channels they just have to apply it right.
So, they had no leaderboards and everyone complains...and now they will have a leaderboard and everyone complains?
They don't do things the way that Microsoft does, I think it's time to get over that fact.
it has nothing to do with efficiency...
the more channels the more options to customize your Wii... if you are a hardcore MK fan, then it would be a great addition to your channel setup. Yea, there isn't enough space on the wii for all of the channels there are (including VC games) if you are the type that wants to have everything available, but they chose this format so everyone's "dashboard" isn't the same old boring view that everyone else's is. I think it's a great option and should be available for every game that Nintendo knows has a hardcore audience for. cheers to nintendo!

Um ya they did have leaderboards before it has nothing to do with that. It has to do with the fact that they are making a whol channel for one game. If it was a leaderboard channel it would be awsome but what they are doing can easily be put in the game software.
MS makes stupid mistakes, this is not one fo them. In fact i dont know why u mentioned it.

I'm not saying that MS made a "stupid mistake" with the leaderboard thing. I think it's a great addition. I'm just saying that Nintendo likes to go a different route than the competition. Why they do it, I don't know. But they do it nonetheless, so I say we should just accept it as it is. We don't really have any other choice, right? It's up to them to do what they feel is best, and that's what they did. I say let's just take their idea of a leaderboard for what it is and enjoy the game.

Its not a great addition if its just this game.
This is not going the different route than its competition its called laziness and bad decisions. Theres a difference bwteen sperating from the competition and screwing things up.

This would be one of the first Nintendo games with leaderboards on the Wii, so maybe what they're doing is letting us know that leaderboards won't be for many games, and that Mario Kart is the exception.
Maybe Nintendo thinks that if the consumers see a specific leaderboard channel for any game, and not just for Mario Kart, then people will expect more Nintendo games to have leaderboards. I don't know, it's just a thought.
Or it could be that they're just new to this sort of thing on the Wii and they're handling it poorly. I still say it's better than nothing, which is something that they could have easily done.

There are other games with leaderboards, namely MoH: H2. Meaning what ever games do have leaderboards should have been included and whatever future games would be included. That is totally lame if they were saying this is the only game for it.
They should be making a real system of leaderboards for everything. You say they want to make a different experience from the competition has it ever occurred to you that a universal leaderboard for all games would be very different from the competition because we would have a very convenient way to view esp if they make sure that you can also view them from them from the actual game.
Yes its better than nothing but its called wanting more not settling for less. You keep making excuses for something that obviously should be better.

"You keep making excuses for something that obviously should be better"?
XBox Live users pay $50 a year for leaderboards and all that technical stuff, we don't pay anything. To have a unique online experience such as that you can't expect to get it for free. What does Nintendo lose if they don't make a top-of-the-line online experience? Also, what do they gain if they do add it? 0x$0= zero dollars.
Honestly, at this point, if you thought that the Wii was going to have an advanced online experience, you made a mistake.
It sucks, sure, but it's not what Nintendo is going for at this point in time. So deal with it, or get a 360. Simple as that. It's out of your hands.
Oh for the love of monkey.....
Ok here we go it's late I'm tired and this is really really simple
The Wii has lots of channels, what else has lots of channels? Your TV
The Wii has room for tons of channels and most users don't have 30 or 40 Virtual Console games to fill in all the channel place holders so they constantly look at nothing but BLANK CHANNELS.
To me that's not exciting, to most users that's not exciting, I would say to ALL users that's not exciting but someone out there will disagree then we'll get to fight about it. So let's just say most users don't like empty channels and don;t want to spend in excess of half a grand to fill them all.
In comes a leaderboard channel. Just a nice channel that's a leaderboard, completely useless (because seriously unless you quit your job and stay up 24 hours a day drinking AMP you're not going to be on that leaderboard don't kid yourself) but it's a channel nonetheless.
Same as when your cable company gives you 50 new channels, do you watch any of them? Maybe 2 if you're lucky. Do you still get to brag that your TV service has 700 channels? Sure ya do.
So they'll add a Mario Kart channel and Mario Tennis channel and a Mario Golf channel and they're already adding a Wii Fit Channel. So it seems that you're getting more.
Know why there's not ONE leaderboard channel?
The same reason we don't have ONE TV channel that mashes everything up in one 24 hour broadcast.
Enough with the micromanagement, I don;t care that one folder can hold all my VC games since they're all on the screen no more then 3 clicks away. Same way I'll never mind a leaderboard channel because it's at most 3 clicks away.
I think Nintendo is really trying to get better at online gaming and this can only help.chocolate1325It'll only really help if it includes SSBB.. but I'm sure I'm not the first 100 to mention this.
Well I guess we can hope there'll be more neat stuff in the future to fill up the space... in anyway they should give us freedom to arrange the channels or organize them to how we see fit.Oh for the love of monkey.....

I dont know why you keep going back to XBL. There are online systems that are on the computer which are ten times better than XBL and they are free. On top of that they dont charge for leaderboards a very basic function. IN case you have not notcied Wii online games are getting better and better kinda of like Xbox games were in the begining, since you love to refer to the Xbox for some reason. Just ecause its free does not mean it has to be crappy. Also they do gain something from this, its called more people interested. Theres always been a more technical audience that has shyed away from Nintendo systems since the N64. Why not doing these things to get them back.
As for the guy who used the tV analogy I just have to say it doesnt work at all. At least for the consumer who wants a btter online system. Its time for Nintendo to centralize these features and push on this generation, they have the sales, they have the games, now lets get the interface.

also i agree about the tournement folders. But i dont agree about the VC ones. i need one more VC game i will have already filled up a page with just VC games. (same with my channels, i think i need 2 or 3 more and i will have filled up a page.) soon when more channels come out, and i get more vc games I soon wont have any room for a channel. So i think having the VC games in one folder would be great.

No. Just no. Please, stop trying to justify Nintendo's bad decision. That has got to be the worst reason I've ever heard, that is T.V. this is a video game console, what works for tv doesn't work for video games. I'm pretty sure if Nintendo made 1 leaderboard channel you wouldn't be complaining.

If this is the worst decision you've ever heard then maybe you're not ready for all this? (I mean being into gaming this deeply)
