It has already been confirmed that several new things will be shown there. New IPs. It's not just Nintendo there but some third parties as well.

These media summits are a pretty recent thing and show that Reggie knows what he is doing.

I would like Nintendo to support lots of good quality innovative indie third party developers because I don't think that the big studios will put their best teams on making Wii games, I think they will put their best teams on making PS3 games and their second best teams on making DS, PSP, and Xbox 360 games; so I agree with the birdmen article posted on another thread on this forum.

For this reason we will not see anything like Street Fighter 4, Extreme-G, Castlevania (a decent Wii version anyway), Turok, Roll Cage, Legacy of Kain, an FF7 or FF8 remake for Wii, or anything other than child or family orientated crap with cutesy visuals - anytime soon that is.

Also, you have to demand more really - if the big studios will make games like Assassins Creed look relatively good on the DS, why do they refuse to do that on the Wii?

I think that Nintendo should stagger their own top franchise releases (Kid Icarus, Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Pikemon, F-Zero, a Metroid franchise reboot, the next Zelda, the next Mario, the next Mario RPG, Starfox Wii).

Staggering their own good quality titles whilst supporting good quality innovative indie third party developers (like they did with Rare before Microsoft bought them out) is Nintendo's best bet for getting what they can out of the Wii before it dies - otherwise it will die by 2010 without anybody having pushed it as far as it is capable of going.

I agree more or less with your statement, some third party companies are supporting the wii.

Capcom: They already released seller softwares like RE4 and RE:umbrella chronicles, both sold 1 millions each. With that success, they are surely working on a new RE for wii. They are aslo developing monster hunter 3 for the wii exclusively (it was a ps3 tiles before). You can add okami wii,zack and wiki and even we love golf.

Square Enix: Already strong with the DS, they said that they want to make more wii games. They released Dragon Quest Sword (don't trust the reviews, this game is awesome) Japan got chocobo dungeon (this game LOOKS awesome) and it's coming state wise. Wiiware got FFCC: My life as a King, it's coming here too. And of course the most expected games: FFCC: Crystal bearer.

You know what, I'm happy with the support of these two companies alone. Add all the second party companies (Monolith soft comes to mind) and the wii is all I need. I wouldn't worry too much, we will have plenty of great games by the end of 08.

There is a rumour that Retro is working on a Zelda Spinoff there is also a rumour that the 1st three Zelda's are getting remade for Wiiware so Retro could be working on one of those.Nintendo_Ownes7

Why is everybody always *****ing about new IPs? I don't believe I saw the Wii series of games (Sports, Play, Fit) on previous Nintendo consoles.Super-Mario-Fan

Eternal Darknes 2... I wont be caring about buying to buy a PS3 then for RE5 as it seems to be a clone of the 1st installment.

And people are told to be quiet about most of it till a certain time. It's to allow the print mags to print their info.

Wii fit sounds pretty cool, Mario Baseball sounds like a dud. I have no opinion on the other two.
