:lol: Let the uproars begin! This is totally to be at nintendo conference. It will sell millions. It will get millions pissed, and I am going to love it.wiifan001Not based on what we know as of now. It looks entirely Japanese (and I don't mean the writing in the screenshots....). Bingo, dice, compatibility game, overseas trip...? Unless there's a hundred fun minigames ala Mario Party that we don't know about yet, it doesn't look very appealing outside of Japan....
But if Nintendo expects this to be a worldwide best-seller, which they do, I assume there will be more to it. But based on what they've shown so far, I have zero interest.
kinda sad to see mario party replaced by this :(
I can understand the move but still sad.
my biggest problem is that mii's honestly have a horrible art s'tyle(or what you call it) and I just can't get used to it
I probly end up buying it anyway... maybe

I honestly don't think the Wii needs another party game,I think the Wii has enough, but it could still be good.

Lol! Whenever I go online in Mario Kart Wii, I'm almost always the only racer who uses a Mii!

Oh I don't have much interest myself. There is no reason not to make this worldwide. It will be worldwide. I'm just going to enjoy the anger people have after this title sells more than than [insert AA XBOX 360 title here] even if it's mediocre. Just bundle it with something and it will SOOOOAAAAR.Hopefully, it will have more in common with Wii Sports and nothing in common with Wii Music. That menu translation concerns me, though. There are only a few mini games there.

Not good news for me, I've got a few problems with this,
First, I absolutely hate it whenever they announce a "wii" title and then say how much 1st party development time and resources they have thrown into it like they did with this game and others. Makes it alot easier to understand why theirs no star fox, kirby, f-zero, ect, ect and if they are coming its taking way longer than it really should (pikmin 3)!
Second, this game better come with online and wii speak support! While I'll admit I actually do enjoy playing these shallow "wii" party games here and there the only times I'll ever play them is with friends/family never solo play. That being said the only time I really get to see my close friends and family and have time to spare to play video gamez is during the summer when everyone is around from college (haven't touched WSR since last summer due to no online) so unless they add online mp than its pretty much worthless to me!
Thirdly , where is mario? I thought he was kinda a pretty big casual mascot! Please don't tell me the whole mii/wii thing has taken over that and even one of his own franchises :P

1) Nintendo has several internal studios. There is one studio, for example, that ONLY works on Zelda games. Wii ____ games are usually developed by one of those studios. Kirby is a HAL game, Mario Party games are usually developed mostly by Hudson, and the F-Zero game for the Gamecube was handled mostly by Sega.
2) The fact that Nintendo uses one of its main studio to develop Wii _____ games is what separates those games from the copycat software that will be released for the Move thingie. I know I'm speculating, but you'll have to take my word for it. If Move Boxing or Move Fencing take over the world like Wii _____ titles, you can rub it in my face when it happens; but I'm pretty sure they won't.
3) It confuses me how you people keep talking about online for Wii _____ games, or even New Super Mario Bros. Wii, for that matter. First Person Shooters, Monster Hunter, fighting games and even Mario Kart see the benefits of online modes; party-oriented games, like Wii _____ games and New Super Mario Bros. Wii don't, mainly because people do not party with Internet buddies.
It's sooooo super to find this out today!!!!
Even though I'm disappointed in finding this out, I guess it's another $50 I don't have to spend so no biggy. I still need to find out what Retro is up to. For the love of god, give us a snippet!
I was 3/4 expecting mario party 9 to suck anyway. But this... talk about a cheap gimmick to make a quick buck off of 98% of the casual market. Miis... I hate those blasted things.

1) Of course Nintendo has multiple studios, that doesn't change the fact that developing these "wii" gamers is taking up their valuable resources like creativity, money, time, effort, ect. Lets say they start with a $1000 bucks, then they make 2 studios one dedicated to Wii games the other to star fox and give each $500 cash, BANG, the wii game just cut into the star fox one even though they are a seperate studios. Same goes with development teams and other resources and where they want to put their focus. Not saying I blame them for focusing on the wii games and the casual base as theirs definetly money their to be made, it just sucks being a traditional nintendo gamer and having to share the attention and make such sacrifices.
2) If the game has a solid multiplayer why not through it online and expand the audience and make it more accessable so gamers have more people to play with? This whole "party" game thing is really a matter of opinion, heck you don't think mario kart and SSBB can be seen as party games? Look at how much their online modes have gotten used! Party game or not if it has a good multiplayer why restrict it to just local in this day and age? Like I said, I'm sitting at home right now while all my freinds are at work, if I owned this game and I wanted to play it I pretty much can't (unless I use cruddy solo mode in a mp focused game) so what the heck, definetly isn't worth a purchase imo if I can't play/enjoy it when I want!

Nothing stops them from spending $1000 for each game. And that's what they do.

Brawl... No. It's a crapton of fun to play with friends who know the fundamentals of platformers/fighting games, but it's not the the game I'd play with friends who don't really play many games; Brawl is a fighting game. It let's you play with up to three more friends (32 if you use the tournament mode), which makes it a brilliant gregarious experience, but it's still a fighting game. Mario Kart sits pretty somewhere in between (hence why Nintendo refers to it as a bridge title). The thing about Mario Kart and its stellar online is that... Well, it's the only way to play with 11 human opponents. Now, try to picture yourself playing Wii Bowling with 12 people online, waiting for 11 guys to finish their turns... Suddenly, the fun disappears.

1) Obviously you didn't get the example (or the idea of examples). How are they gonna spend $1000 for each game if they only have a $1000 budget? Companies just don't have infinite money to throw at all their projects! Nintendo like any other company has limited resources/financing and the fact that the "wii" games exist is enough proof that their taking up a good deal of their limited resources that could be going towards other games!
2) See you just proved my point, what defines a party game is really a matter of opinion because you say no to SSBB and I as well as many other gamers (many many others) say HELL YES SSBB IS A PARTY GAME!!! Yes SSBB is a fighting game (in a very very loose way) but its so simple with single button combos/attacks and all that I have ppl come over all the time who dont own any video games pick it up and play/enjoy it!
Like I said its a matter of how you play it and its a matter of opinion. Why not add an online mode if the great multiplayer is there? All your doing is isolating certain gamers for no good reason. Imo if a game has a mp mode period than it should have online play as a option in this day and age as you can't tell wether or not individual gamers will play online or locally more. You might as well give both options instead of just one and pretty much every game/console gives you those options except the Wii and some of its games. Maybe the weak online system is to blame for poor/hard online implementation with its games, all I'm saying is it shouldn't be hard for a developers to add a simple online mode to a game with an already great multiplayer, it should be a easy task/implementation and a no brainer but obviously something about the NWFC discourages adding online features for whatever reason, probably just not being quite as advanced as the other standard systems out their and as a result not quite as accessable.

And obviously you don't seem to understand that Nintendo made over $2.5 billion in profit last year alone. Profit. That means the money that they make after hardware and software development costs. They don't have "limited resources" like you seem to think...they have plenty of money to make more games. They're just not going to do it.
I don't know why people still cling onto the beliefs that they're going to see Star Fox, Kirby, F-Zero, or whatever at E3 every year. It's financial suicide to release games that won't sell, and those are titles that won't sell to Nintendo's expectations.
People don't know what they have til it's goneSuddenly everybody loves mario party, i'm confused
JuarN18
I've been actually trying to figure out what Nintendo was going to release to co-incide the likes of its more established/traditional games this year, and this looks to be the title that Nintendo will use to attract those who won't be lining up for the likes of Metroid, Zelda, and the RPGs this year. This will definitely be a game Nintendo will focus a good deal of attention on in the coming months, and I'm looking forward to see what games will be presented in Wii Party.
Of course, one can expect an explosion of egotistical and exclusive-oriented rants in every gaming-related circle between now and the game's release, but that's not something that we aren't used to by now. :P

Of course they have limited resources, money isn't their main concern (though its still limited with them) but their are many other resources that go into making games that they are limited on as well like time, attention, developers, effort, marketing/push, ect.
Obviously ppl in here cling to those beliefs because this is a gaming forum (not a buisness forum or a family/soccer mom forum) and those are the traditional games they want to see!
Wether or not its super realistic that it will happen, as long as theirs a small chance people in here are gonna be talking!
Heck, I think Kirby just got slated again for release recently (http://www.destructoid.com/is-kirby-heading-to-the-wii-will-he-ever--173121.phtml) and even though we know the history with kirby and this type of stuff people are still most likely gonna start talking about it again because of this glimmer of hope.

Sorry Jordan but this game will definitely be at the Conference guaranteed.I can already see the future of the E3 Nintendo hate threads.... "Wii sucks cause they've only got Wii Party" :(Kenny789Soo true
Why is everyone so mad? Announcing it at an investor's conference is much better than having it announced at E3.
Oh no...It's Wii Music ALL OVER AGAIN!
Hopefully F-Zero Wii, Kirby Wii, Zelda Wii, and Star Fox Wii happens!
Well, there goes my theory about a new Mario Party game coming this Holiday. On the plus side, I was half right.
This game should be just about perfect, and I don't understand you people who are dissing it with nearly any information at all. It's made by freaking NINTENDO! You know, the only company that would ever put any effort into a game of this type to actually make it fun to play to everyone.
Not only that, but it is exactly what the Wii needs right now. Think about where this was announced, the context. The people in the know, know that this is going to sell like hotcakes.
Wii Music was a failure. Nintendo was very disappointed in the sales of Animal Crossing City Folk and Wii Music. No need try again with Wii Music 2 if you got a sequel made for 20+ million units of Wii Fit (Wii Fit Plus) and then a sequel for Wii Sports, a title that came with every North American wii, included with a bundle. No, Wii Music 2 would be a not good choice. Wii Party is going to bring the house down, topping the sales charts for the several months to come upon its release.wiifan001
At first, I didn't like how they tried to say that people didn't "get" Wii Music (and that was mostly Miyamoto's whining, mind you). Then, Iwata did the right thing and simply said "Stop making copies of Wii Music".
No disrespect to Miyamoto, but sometimes Internet people tend to think of him as someone who never does anything wrong, and is pushed to teh evil realms of horrible cashual gamez by Iwata and Reggie. That's just not true. Miyamoto made Wii Sports/Resort, Wii Fit and Wii Music because he wanted to. If anything, Iwata should get more credit for understanding that, unlike Wii Sports/Resort and Wii Fit, Wii Music simply sucked, while Miyamoto was still saying "People don't understand this awesome piece of art that I've made!!!!!!1111".

THE Shigeru Miyamoto has his own scale and a bar that is unmatched by any other person in the world. For THE Shigeru Miyamoto, a failure is making a game that sells only about 3 1/2 million copies this generation, on ONE system. This isn't a direct sequel to anything either. How many other gaming developers aside THE Shigeru Miyamoto can say something is a failure on that scale? Please Log In to post.
