No VA in Skyward Sword?

This is an insert from Nintendo Power, I believe Konno said this and I'm not sure if its an opinion or if he is confirming, its not exactly clear the way its written here, so take it as you will. Personally I think its a confirmation, doesn't come as a surprise because I would think they would have mentioned voice acting at E3 if it were in. Zelda is confirmed as well, but I mean come on, odds were certainly in favor of her being in.

I've always read aloud making up my own voices for each character. It's more fun that way.

Voice acting would have been nice, I don't want Link to speak under any circumstances but I have become accustomed to my game worlds having voiced characters in them and I hate to think of Zelda being a step back :(. I do agree its better to have no voice acting than bad voice acting, but so many great games this gen have good voice work I don't see why we should assume it would be bad.

Edit* I wouldn't mind voice acting if it was like Midna where everyone spoke a fictional language. But it wouldn't make sense because they technically speak the same language as Link and that would mean that they would technically speak what ever language you speak because Link can understand them.

See i think about it like Metroid Prime 3 Corruption. Samus didn't speak but everyone else did. I thought it worked really well.

I assume that if it was going to be in the game in the first place, it would have been shown at E3.

As much as I love Ganon, I am glad there is a chance for a different villain.

I would prefer Voice Acting. But at the same time, it doesn't really matter, because I never expect it.

I really really hope Ganon isn't in this one. I would like a new Villain. That one guy in TP proved you could have a great villain that is not Ganon. Of course Ganon turned out to be in the game, but if he didn't, I could see people not really caring.

Good, I never want full blown VA in Zelda. The gestures and Hylian speech they do is atmospheric enough.

And I saw someone mention everyone speaking like Midna in some indecipherable language, but I don't think too many people would appreciate that. Also that would slow the hell out of development, because even though its gibberish, it has to have the proper flow of language and if everyone is speaking it, it has to match up. It would take a long time to write and record a fake language.

honestly zelda with voice acting would be weird and wouldn't fit, it'd be like playing the handheld pokemon games with voice acting >_>

I'd like to see a 3D console Zelda without Ganon I mean the only one we haven't had a Ganondorf in is Majoras Mask.

Make it like Dragon Age: Origins. Everyone has a voice but Link/Main Hero. Even give it an option to turn it off for the people who don't like it.

Depends on what the voices sound like. If they're annoying, then I hope that there's something to disable their voice...

I don't see anything wrong with voice acting. I'm playing Dragon Age Origins currently, and I really like the script and voice acting. I think if you get a decent script and good voice actors then you have a strong chance at enhancing a game's presentation--especially with story. If voice acting is brought in--it can work as long as the effort is not half hearted.

I don't know the whole "time-line" of zelda, as it is very confusing and arguable, but it might be interesting if Ganondorf was in the game, but not as the final boss. It IS before OoT, so it might make sense too. Maybe he is a main character that is a villain under a boss that you fight in the end, or maybe hes just an NPC that you never fight but do see. Something like that would be kind of cool.

Better be a new villain in the run up to Twilight Princess no mention of Ganondorf and I just think he was added because fans wanted him in so Nintendo gave into the pressure and added him.
