I totally disagree. Besides, they announced two Mario games! I don't think as many people were ailing for a new Mario as much as they were for a new Zelda.

Riiiiight, Nintendo only showed two core games because they can't satisfy the core.... two games... yet Sony and Microsoft were out there showing seven or eightreally good lookinggames one right after another. There is a reason Nintendo core is not satisfied, it's called Nintendo delivering appetizers, when everyone else is delivering full course meals.
TaMuK711
Ermm...No. Nintendo announced 3 core games (i hate using this term). Mario galaxy2, metroid and new super mario bros. How many did Sony/MS announce? around2-3 as well.
You see, just because Nintendo didnt show all of their games in the conference doesnt mean its coming anymore. Nintendo could have easily put demos of Red Steel 2, Muramasa, Little King Story, The Conduit etc and BAM theres your 7-8 good core games. Its not that they dont have the games its just they didnt show them at the one hour conference.
Zelda isn't going anywhere, whether they announce it today or next year it wont make the game come out any faster. SepewrathTHEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN WORKING ON IT FOR 4 YEARS NOW!!!!!!at least show us a teaser trailer or an actual trailer it doesn't take that long to make a freakin game for cruds sake!

Are you sure it ain't the other way around? One of their appetizers on Nintendo's console will probably massacre all their games in terms of sales. Not saying I didnt see some good games on the other consoles, which I did.

In the meantime, lets play a game that is a sequel to one of the most popular games ever. Not enough? How about Metroid? No? Final Fantasy. Sin and Punishment. Kingdom Hearts.
OH my gosh. Well fine I am sorry that i feel a Zelda game is overdue for a showing and that I was surprised it wasn't at the press conference. Who the heck says they aren't happy about the other games. Though Metroid isn't for me, cool it is getting its 2nd game. Mario 2 is fine. blah blah. THIS thread was about no Zelda Wii at the press conference, it was NOT about all the other games that were present. Those are in OTHER threads. What the heck is wrong with caliing a company out when they make a misstep in your view? Dear lord I know you guys are not Nintendo fanboys but when you can't allow for criticism of a company, that is exactly how it comes across.
Swich it: IF Metroid still didn't have a Wii versionbut we were on the 2nd zelda, 2nd MArio, 2nd starfox and there was no mention at the big E3 press conference about it... I don't thinkI would be telling the Metroid fans to stop whining like babies and be happy that those other games are out there, or go get the 2nd Metroid for the DS.
GabuEx
See, here's the thing that I don't get about this whole "we want Zelda" thing: we already know that the next Zelda is in development. They've said so themselves. It will be done when it's done; whether or not they show it at E3 does not affect its ultimate release date one bit. I can understand complaints about franchises like Star Fox and F-Zero much more, because we don't even know they're making anything there, but Zelda? Do people think they lied, or what? I don't understand the whole "if I see a trailer I'll be satisfied" mentality - you can't exactly play a trailer.
Why show a single thing ever then. There is always a metroid and a mario game in development as well. Star Fox was talked about before. Why mention half of any of the stuff they did? Why show God of War, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Zelda Spirit Tracks, Star Wars: Old Republic.. we knew all of these were in development. We all expected to see something about them at E3, thats what they do at the show. I was disappointed with Nintendo for not talking about it or showing it. You could assume that if it isn't shown then it is much further down the line, which would be disappointing as well. (PLEASE don't go into the whole let them finish it right and not hurry). OMG I remember complaints about Mario Galaxy, Brawl, etc... What the heck is wrong with expressing that disappointment... sorry I don't bow before the almighty Nintendo for they can do no wrong. I hold no allegiance to any company.. they are companies making products that I sometimes buy.

I never said it wouldn't have been nice to see some footage of the next Zelda, but people are acting as though Zelda being a no-show thus far means that Zelda isn't coming. I'm just saying people need to step back and take a reality check. Zelda is coming, and it will be whatever it will be. All we would gain from seeing a trailer is advance notice of what it will be; it would not change either the game or its release date in any way whatsoever. Not seeing a trailer at E3 does not mean that you will enjoy the next Zelda less.
I was expecting a Zelda game to show up at e3, but i guess they just dont have enough of the game to show, also im tired of the ds Zeldas they are getting on my nerves especially spirit tracks it just ins't large scale enough. The only Zelda game on the Wii was imported from the gamecube ( that doesnt count as a Game for the wii in my opinion) and its 2009 its been way too long since they have had a serious Legend of Zelda game
Im hoping that they wont use toon link, too many of those for the ds back to back
Did I wanna see Zelda? Of course. Am I crying about not seeing it? No. Honestly, I think their thought process was more along the lines of they had this new, awesome looking metroid to hype up, why steal it's thunder with the new zelda? I mean come on. It's being made. Just be patient.

I dont know why, its not like they havent had... IDK how many years, and i can't believe im trying to convince?? W/E all of you guys will call the ppl who are RIGHTFULLY ANGRY babies but whatever im done. Wii Fit Plus Oh yeah........ Thats what everyone was hoping for........ And what, pray tell, would you have gained from that name and that thirty second trailer?
Would it have made the final product more enjoyable?
Would it have made the release date earlier?
No. It would just have given you a thirty second trailer to look at and a name with which to discuss the game. If Nintendo announced that they were not making a new Zelda, then you could be rightfully incensed. But with it just having not been shown at E3, despite people from Nintendo saying on more than one occasion that it definitely is in development and is coming? I really want to know what you have truly lost. That's all I'm asking for: that people take a reality check on this.

Just like you said - trailers are made for the company's benefit. Not ours. They are created to be disseminated such that public awareness of the impending release of a game is increased. If the game isn't going to be released until a year from now, they have ample time to build that awareness. They had limited time at E3, and they chose not to show Zelda at this point in time. Miyamoto himself said that he'd have liked to show Zelda here, but they chose to focus on development instead of building a trailer for a game that is still a long ways away.
You already know the game is coming; you know it's in development; and you're presumably interested in it. The only thing you would get from a trailer is a first look at the game that we're going to get whether we like it or not. You would either like it, or not like it, but either way the game that is coming will be the same. Would I have liked to see a trailer? Of course. Do I feel somehow cheated or betrayed from having not seen one? No. Why would I?

Ya, I agree with you. :) But think about some of the problems. Motion+ isn't bundled with Wiis, and it requires a separate purchase. The reason why IR pointing and waggle are so widely used in games is because those abilities came with the wiimote right out of the box. Making a game REQUIRE Motion+ is a big deal, and a big risk. What if someone really wants to play, but doesn't have Motion+ and doesn't want to buy it? What if most people are like that? What if Motion+ is a big failure? If Motion+ is a big failure, and the next Zelda REQUIRES it to play, that means that the next Zelda will also be a failure: not many people will play and Ninty will lose money. We'll all lose out. It's like those great games that Ninty made for the VirtualBoy. They were failures, yet they were awesome. It's dangerous to require a new piece of technology to play a major franchise game. Do you think what I've said is reasonable? Or am I wrong to say that requiring a new piece of tech that doesn't come in the box in order to play a game is risky?Im as angry as the next guy about no zelda being shown, but it didnt come as a suprise to me, they announced zelda on DS and nintendo is crazy so in their heads, thats enough zelda to shut us up, what will erupt into a bloody riot would be if they dont show zelda NEXT E3, people would kill someone.

I'm sure if Zelda requires motion plus, they will offer a bundle just like they are doing with all the other Wii motion plus games. Zelda is a game that will sell regardless, even in a $60 bundle. If anything, the requirement of motion plus in a Zelda game will prevent the accessory from failing,

If they showed us nothing because nothing was in development, yes, I would feel that way.
If they showed us nothing just because they would have preferred to work on the many games already in development, no I would not. I would perhaps be concerned, if they showed us nothing whatsoever, about their short-term financial plans, but if the games are coming, then they're coming regardless of whether or not we see a short teaser trailer on them.
I ask again: what have you lost? Does no trailer mean that the game has been pushed out longer than it would have had there been a trailer? Does it mean that the game has been canceled? You say that you're feeling cheated and betrayed, but what have you lost? If Nintendo is indeed making the exact Zelda that you are wanting, then in what way are they not doing what you would like them to be doing? And what would you get from this Zelda had they shown a trailer at E3 that you now cannot get because they did not show a trailer at E3?
These aren't tough questions - if they truly have substantiative answers.
Like I said, I'm just asking for a reality check. That's all. I'm not saying that I wouldn't have liked to see a trailer. Just asking for a reality check.

All Nintendo said was that Zelda teams were hard at work, and they are because a zelda game is set for 2010 so you are still mad because...?
This People still expect games like Kid Icarus to come out for crying out loud. Nintendo fans hype everything to epic proportions, and then pout at nintendo because they didn't meet our unsatisfiable standards.Just because people on the wii boards said they were expecting zelda doesn't mean it was going to happen.
goblaa
I'm going to laugh really hard when they make the perfect game because they decided to wait instead of listening to some of you people and rushing it just to make you happy.
I'm going to laugh harder if they instead decide to rush a zelda wii out and it is the worst game ever created, then seeing all of you crying because you wanted a rushed zelda game and nintendo didn't have time to make it right. I think all of the people who are saying nintendo owes you should go think about life, did you make a deal with nintendo that zelda will show up at E3 2009? I didn't think so.
Nintendo owes none of us anything, some of you were complaining about a god of war 3 trailer that so many PS3 owners were stoked about, you same people were talking about sony showed nothing and how bad they failed, what losers some people are for thinking it was good etc. etc.But I think that if nintendo showed a movie of no gameplay and just link standing there doing nothing, you people would worship the trailer to no end, thinking that nintendo is God because they gave you what you wanted.
Pitiful, just pitiful.
I expected a "KK Slider" trailer. Maybe something where he uses his guitar as a weapon kinda like Quick Draw McGraw.
How about we all agree Zelda woulda been cool.
It didn't happen.
Hopefully it still shows at E3.
It will be awesome whenever it comes out.
The sooner it comes out the better as long as quality is good.
Hmmm you seem a lot calmer. What happened?
Congrats on 1000 posts btw.
I like pie!!!

Quality time with the Wife :)
lol I didn't even see my 1000 post...ty
How come Spirit Tracks isn't enough? People are so picky and over-hyped about these things...enterawesomeBecause 1) Not everyone owns a DS (Some of us just own consoles... and this IS the "Wii" forum), and 2) It sounds stupid. Zelda goes with trains about as much as Metroid goes with cooking. Spirit Tracks isn't a substitute for a proper Wii Zelda. And after native Mario title after native Mario title, 2 native Metroid titles, and now two Super Mario Galaxies, you'd think they could work in a Zelda.

Would have been cool? Sure, I agree with that. I just think some people need to take a step back and realize that not seeing it does not mean that it was cancelled, and that the sky has not fallen. :P
