When you think about it, the wii doesnt completely change gaming. I mean, its just like a mouse for the computer, cept with more axis. But its mostly used as a pointing device, therefore its pretty much the console equivalent of a mouse. But a step in the right direction none the less.

I don't think so. The Wii did change the way of gaming. Before the Wii, did you see adults playing a console as they played the Wii? The Wii opened the doors for new gamers and made game more enjoyable to play with friends and your family.

Even if you could limit the innovation to the pointer (which I don't believe you can), I still think that has a major effect on gaming. It opens the console world up to genres and ways of play that traditionally only really worked on the PC. This is crucial, since console and PC gaming are like two different sub cultures.

Ohh yeah. I totaly agree with everything you guys said. And yes it does open new genres. But i got the feeling that the we were lead onto believe that it was complete free motion. But none the less im still a huge nintendo wii fan.
