Hi guys. I was wondering if it ok to leave my DS plugged in to the charger all the time when not in use? I sometimes don't play it for weeks but I'd like it to be fully charged when I go to use it. Will it hurt the battery or anything? I'm also wondering the same thing about the PSP. Thanks! :)

I dont know this but i think when your ds is fully charged it sorta turns off, like when i plugg it in when its full the lights dont appear, so to say its full, so i dont know if that means its charging or not. But its good to know yea, i leave mine plugged in for days too

I have left my DS and PSP charging for long periods of time before, it hasn't done anything bad to them and it shouldn't hurt yours either.

My DS Lite's been plugged in for 5 months straight with no noticable problems so far. I wouldn't worry.

DS lite batteries are made of lithium-ion. That means you can leave those plugged for hours with no problem. Also, you don`t need to wait until the battery get completely empty to charge it. This is called the memory effect, its only present on nickel/cadmium batteries.

Is that the same as leaving for example a phone charged for 12 hours before you use it? *that number was invented, i forgot how long*

same all though I think the battery life on my DS phat died because I charged it so many times in the manual that all DS's come with it says that the battery is only good for 500 charges and then it will start to not be as long...which is what happened to my Phat I think. However you can easily replace the battery if you buy one online!

the ds stops charging when the light thing goes out. thats when you unplug the charger.

as long as its plugged in, you're wasting electricity
