Seriously?
That few seconds bother you?
Time for a new hobby then, Maybe reading. With books you can just start the book and read. No stopping for anything
It's a shame you don't watch TV or movies. I'd suggest them but since you hate waiting a few seconds for the experience to begin there's no way you'd sit through the opening theme of a show for a minute or the opening of a movie where the studio name is presented.
because they realese an instruction book along with a health warning book its the buyers own fault for getting hurtjohnnyggg
So each time that Nintendo updates their operating system you want them to send out new literature to every single Wii owner?
You think spending that much money sending new instruction manuals to every single Wii owner makes good business sense?
But with the X360 you put the disc in and your away, with the Wii you HAVE to go through the screen, disc channel...loading...health warning and then you finally get your game...and that happens every single time.stike22
That's not how it works elsewhere
Main menu, your profile, choose game panel, play game
On the Wii it's main menu, pick the game, confirm game
The warning screen comes up while the game is loading instead of being a blank screen. If you didn't have the health and warning you'd just have a blank screen. Losing it would not speed anything up

Seriously? is that how it works in America? that sucks! where I live put the disc in and your away. Still shouldn't it just be scroll down to play disc press button and it works straight away?
idont think that it is that bad i kind of like it i ca find the games i want to play fast and usually without delay
You know whats worse? Wii Sports telling me I should a take a break and go outside. That thing isnot my ****ing mom.
It would be cool if you could make your own little jingles and put them on when you turn on the wii
also the wii needs to make backround pictures like you can do on the xbox 360

Yeh I honestly thought they were going to do that once, I don't see why they don't make another channel or something to download that allows Wii owners to do that.Jaysonguy, this is the internet, a place for nitpickres. Even the smallest stuff is worth arguing over here! Anyways, I do think that the Wii Menu is a bit boring and could be better looking.Seriously?

I actually find that part very humorous, to be honest. It's not like the game turns off on you or anything, and plus, I love that window image.
As for the Wii menu, it's not that bad. Personally, I find it a bit better than the Xbox360's menu and even more so against the PS2's startup method. It doesn't take that long to access the game, so I can deal with it. :P
I was tired of the DS menu, then I decided to change the settings so it auto-matically starts the game.
They should do this for the Wii.
Now I have my DSi, and the menu is awesome.
I like the menu.
The music isnt in your face, its subtle enough to carry on without disturbing you. The menu and channels are polished and easy to navigate.
Don't really see any problems other than your personal preference influenced by other consoles designs:-/
*raises hand ecstatically*
I would love a change in the music on the menu screen. The safety screen doesnt bother me all that much, though it would be nice if you couold disable it so you dont have to see it everytime you turn on your wii. But the music, aghhhh, cant they at least give us some options so we can switch up the music.
nintendo are to safe. the health screen show up every time you turn on the wii and evern the ds! how can you possibly hurt yourself playing that? you'd have yo be an idiot. or maybe some type of finger injury...
EDIT: i think they put the wii one there so when you press A it connects the wii remote (its still unnecessary)

:P This is exactly what I was thinking.
Some people just have no patience at all.
I can understand what the topic creator is saying but I also understand that it isn't necessary. I would like to be able to customize the Wii Menu with custom music and my favorite animated gif (If I had one) but I don't see Sony or Microsoft upgrading their's so why should the Wii? To be different would be a good thing but it still isn't necessary.

I italicized the loading parts not present in the 360 and bolded the additional part for the Wii. For the 360, it's the dash board, and then hit A to launch game. Or you can set it to launch the game as soon as it turns on, completely skipping the dashboard. I personally don't mind the health warning that much; my only complaint is always having to use the wiimote to start a game. I say that because I like being able to just hit one button while I'm doing something and have a game finished loading by the time I'm done. More importantly though, is that I've probably played just as many, if not more, GC games on the Wii as Wii games. When I'm not playing a Wii game, I have the controllers stowed away and the batteries taken out to keep them from draining. It's a pain always having to get one out, put in the batteries, take them out, and put everything away just to select a game that doesn't even involve the Wiimote. Plus I usually have to fix the sensor bar because it almost always seems to get knocked out of place somehow. It'd be nice if an update would allow you to use another controller on the main menu to avoid all that.
How does the stupid health warning affect u in any way at all!?!?!? And u don't even stay at the main menu for even 30 secs, so what does it even matter!?! Go get a life, and rant about something that actually has a reason for ranting!

I thought that you could hook up the classic controller and pick using the joystick. I could be wrong, I haven't used the classic controller in forever.[QUOTE="jirca87"][QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]

I actually would like to be able to use the GC controller on the Wii Menu. If don't mind the Health Menu, but maybe they could do something to make it look better (maybe a logo or two?). But, that isn't anything to worry about.
If you compare the Wii interface with the PS3 and XBox360 interfaces, the Wii's channel system is much easier to navigate around.
