Okami on Wii would be a must buy for me. IGN just reported it as a rumor. If this idea pans out this would be one PS2 port I would not be complaining about.

*sigh* capcom is mostly a publisher. the people who developed the game, Clover studios have been disbanded and a lot of them no longer work for Capcom.

That exactly doesnt mean anything. While Clover has been shutdown, Capcom still owns the Okami brand and they can do whatever they want with it, similar to Factor 5 and Rogue Squadron. I would put the odds at 60% no, 40% yes

Hopefully Capcom will have it ported, is a good fit for the Wii and the majority of the development is already done (aka easy money)

i think Capcom is going more third party, instead of staying loyal to just a few consoles. they already established a great relationship with MS with games like Dead Rising and Lost Planet, and there will always be countless number of Megaman games on the DS.

then Okami on Wii will be nothing more than a port with tacked on Wii controls. the minds behind Okami that made the game fantastic wouldn't be their to use their innovation to implement the Wii controls. although, if all you are looking for is just a port of the game because you are unable to play the PS2 version, then it would be fine.

I agree there but they wont pull a franchise from one company and port it to another when it started on a Sony console.
It would be too expensive to make two versions so that is out too.

Yes but they just dumbed down the graphics with the Sony versions of those games.
Now that the Sony needs to code for Cell and the Wii needs to code for TEV and the Wiimote it's askng a lot for a company.

I was just talking about it being too much money, which obviously it wouldn't be since they've already spent most of the time and money making the game. It doesn't matter which system it started on.

a rep from Capcom denies it: "Officially we have no plans for Okami on Wii at this time. Research and development are always looking at possibilities but given Clover is now closed for business, I think it highly unlikely a Wii version would be possible." http://wii.ign.com/articles/764/764007p1.html although... Capcom has lied before: "RE4 is a Gamecube exclusive."

okami definately wont come out on the but if it does it would just be a port of the ps2 version but i still highly doubt that they would even do that. There isnt even a team to make another 1 so this rumor is false

No, No, and No. The Wii doesn't need any ports, and this game doesn't need to be ported to the Wii. It's just fine on the PS2, and it is quite impressive too. If they wanted to make a second similar game and make it for the Wii, I'm cool with that. This will never be ported anyways, especially since it had suck lackluster sales.

That is exactly what I was thinking... Sometimes people love to show off their ignorance.
