Ok, basically I have been a microsoft fanboy (lemming, for you system wars people) for awhile.

But honestly im getting bored with the 360 now seeing as its just SHOOTER after SHOOTER coming out with the exception of crappy sports games and some somewhat decent racing games.

So about a week ago, I decided I was going to get a Wii and either boom blox or super mario galaxy with it. (Still undecided about that, boom blox seems really tempting since I love to create stuff like in the create mode and stuff like that)

But now that I finally have the money for a wii, I searched like 300 stores today and none of them had one. This is not my first account on GS, I am actually a returning user its just that I forgot my ID & password for my old account. But I remember back when the wii launched and in 2007 people complaining about how the wii was so hard to find and that nintendo couldnt keep up with demand.

For one thing, I definately did not expect it to stay that way all the way into mid 2008.

So now I had to spend extra money and buy the Wii on Ebay and I wont get it for another 1-2 weeks.

Also, Starfox 64, Super mario world, wave race 64, man, the wiis virtual console has SOO many better games than the crappy xbox live arcade which is chalk full of crap games except for DOOM, MK3, and braid.

I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on some of the VC games also.

So, my fellow GS users, how long did it take you to get YOUR wii? I would create a poll for this but I think I have to be level 5 to do that if i remember correctly.

And, my burning question, should I get boom blox or super mario galaxy?

I bought my Wii back in February 2007 (when they were actually hard to find) and had to wait outside for a while for the store to open. I got it two weeks after I started looking. I called stores in my area and found out when they were getting shipments.

I think its possible that you may be confusing Boom Blox with Blast Works. Although I am not very familiar with either game, I do know that Blast Works is known for its creation tools.

I'd reccomend getting both since the system is new to you. Mario Galaxy is probably the best game on the system. I'd also reccomend Zelda, Metroid, Smash Bros, and Zack & Wiki.

i bought a few of them when they came out and sold all but one on eBay... so no time at all haha

i was just in my local Wal-Mart in Athens, OH - There were 3 Wii's in stock... i guess you just have to be in the right place at the right time

i haven't played the blocks game yet... but I will vouch for SMG and say that it's one of the best games on Wii

BUHAHAHAA! I pre-ordered mine on launch with no idea it would be so hard to find one after.

I lolled in the queue when I went to pick it up and heard the guy in front of me trying to find out if the another store had nunchuks 250km away! Meanwhile I just stepped through the line and got my wii with all the trimmings.

Kind of ironic since its mostly been gathering dust up until the beginning of this year.

If I finish my summer work soon I might treat myself to Boom Blox, or possibly Okami. :)

O: a 360 user getting bored of his 360 and wanting a Wii? That's a first for me!

And as for your burning question: If you have siblings or a lot of friends then Boom Blox could be more fun, but if you need a long lasting good single player adventure game then Super Mario Galaxy would be good.

Another one of these threads? Back to topic, get Galaxy. It's very fun but lacks in the mutiplayer department. I haven't played the other game so I can't really say anything about it.

Ha, yeah, i was going to buy it off of circuit city.com but they forced me to buy a game WITH it that i wasnt interested in and plus they make you buy the controller and nunchuk seperatly so it turned out to be like $360. After that I won a bid on ebay for $285

:D

it should come in a week or two

When I wanted Wii, the first day I went to buy one, I went to 3 stores (this was over a year ago and in Canada), the first 2 stores were sold out and the 3rd store (Future Shop) had 2 Wiis left, and I bought one.

Boom Blox does not look fun at all to me and Super Mario Galaxy is a must have for anyone who remotely likes Mario.
