for some reason i cannot beat this level. this has to be the most difficult stage in mario platforming history. real talk, ive retried this painstaking level over '50 TIMES' :shock: did anyone else have a similar prob, i know im not alone?? btw LadyShanoa. your on a post blast! when i came into the ds forum....i honestly saw you name, as the last post, on 80% of the topics. your a true forum blazer. girl 'ds' power maybe?

There was a recent thread about how easy this game was and EVERYONE was mentioning what a piece of cake this game is. I thought I was the only one who struggled a bit.

Yes a lot of people claim it's real easy... it was more difficult than how they made it out to be. I was stuck around there too. I can't remember which one your doing, but a lot of the last levels are much harder to perform well on. Just keep trying and I wish you luck. :)
I couldn't remember the level so I just popped the cart in my ds and replayed it. Its not too bad if you take it slow. Only took me two trys to get through it after no current practice. However, I did notice that I haven't gotten past 8-5 yet. Don't remember if I got bored with the game or gave up because the level was too hard. You have renewed my interest though! NSMB...here I come!
Yeah, 8-1 is one of the harder levels in the game. Like someone else said, try to take it slow and don't move to fast. I also found it easier to complete the level as small mario (not mini-mario, your original size where 1 hit kills you) because you don't have to worry about ducking under the missiles, you can just stand there and it won't hit you.
Thanks for the vid. I couldn't remember which level that was. The whole eighth world gave me lots of trouble. I lost many, many lives. I disagreed with the multitude of people who said this game was really easy for a while, until Yoshi's Island DS came out. And then I came to realize that NSMB is rather easy. YIDS puts it to shame once you get to the last two worlds.

Not yet, right now my DS Lite is sitting about 3 inches embedded into my bedroom wall, from where I threw it. @_@

Yeah I was gonna say Yoshi's Island DS is alot harder.
I beat htat level my first try, and everytime someone mentions how hard it is, I always forget what level it is and go back and try it again and beat it my first try again, I dont understand whats so hard. Its not hard at all acually, all of NSMB was extremely easy.
I just dont understand what people find so difficult about it? The crows? you just jump on them to kill them or jump over them to avoid them. The couple ghosts? can't be that? The things that shoot the bombs? Those aren't hard to get buy, I just don't understand!
Yeah, I found NSMB amazingly easy too. I don't know if this applies for everyone, but for those of you having trouble with that level (or any level really) try going through the whole thing using the Blue shell's dash attack. I've beatten the whole game just using the dash attack. XD
I beat the whole game in three hours, but that was probably the hardest of the levels, but still that's not saying much since the whole game was really easy.

lol..yea i think after my 20th attempt (seriously) i just went spastic in my bed. i even tried to sit in different positions to increase blood circulation to my phalanges but to no avail. i still failed @ it. i didnt even try today, but i guarantee i will best this level tomorrow (today actually) so i can finish twewu. hey you should record it, and upload dude...that would simultaneously be awesome AND hilarious:D

I amazed people I really am. I've had to go back and play this level again just to understand the fuss lol. Where abouts is everyone getting stuck. I've just completed the level again 1st time. Those birds can be quite tough to avoid, but beyond that it's a pretty straight forward level.
