Are your kidding me? This will probably be the same thing as the GC version just like all the other ones.
Example
Mario Kart Double Dash+Mario Kart Wii= same thing.
The mario tennis game is set to make it's transition on the Nintendo Wii console. I can't wait.Turbo_Burdo
Great Job at raising my hopes and then crushing them in a couple seconds!
You title makes it sound like the wii was getting a new mario tennis, not a an old mario tennis from 5 years ago with slapped on "waggle" controls :(
Have a gamecube, never bought mario tennis, heard it wasnt up to peoples expectations!!
Mario tennis for Wii, port of gamecube version, wont make me buy a Wii (yet!!)
Come on nintendo, 2009 is your year, dont get sloppy!!!8)
meh, the only gamecube re-release I'd like from nintendo would be windwaker with twilight princess graphics... but that's not even on their interests =(DarkSan00Why would it be in anyone's interests? :?
Why would you be excited for this? I know it isn't a reliable source, but x-play gave it 2/5 stars saying it's just like the original only with tiring and frustrating controls.
They ended up making the game worse.
i heard the new controls are really good just like real tennis, i have played the gamecube version alot and it was a great game best tennis game ever made. Use Mario games are always really expensive any way so you could probably pick this up for cheaper then the GC version if you havn't played that one and be really happy about because it was a great game.[QUOTE="DarkSan00"]meh, the only gamecube re-release I'd like from nintendo would be windwaker with twilight princess graphics... but that's not even on their interests =(Wintry_FlutistWhy would it be in anyone's interests? :?
I'd be interested in playing WW with TLP graphics and I'm sure I'm not the only one :)
WOW, were pretty off-topic......
just to let you know, X-Play gave this game a 2 out of 5
and there is no extra stuff that isnt in the Gamecube version, so if you already have the GC version, this game is a pass
i'll say it again
buy or encourage people to buy these ports if they really just wanted $ why wouldn't melee, double dash, wind waker, sunshine, be the first ones? because they sold more than enough
but pikmin, mario tennis, chibi robo, metroid aren't as popular with even hardcore gamers, yea they have their niche but they aren't selling in the mario numbers
its to get some profit, yes, but mainly to get these weird "hardcore" wii gamers who only buy 300k of zack & wiki, okami, and the casuals to test franchises that they want to make new Wii versions, but want to test the waters
perhaps there is a DK sidescroller in early stages, do you think if the jungle beat port sells and does well it will hurt it? and pikmin too. if pikmin 3 is being made, i'm sure having this port will be a good learning tool for them.
as i repeat, if this wasn't for nintendo to better understand their audience why wouldn't sunshine, double dash, melee, wind waker, animal crossing have been first announced?

what did they give the GCN version? i mean $30, and if they rated the GCN one 3 or 4 out of 5 its really no point to lower it unless the design is dated.
if its still a quality game, with little added, does that compromise the design? or you're intergity to re-buy something? besides, xplay only even reviewed this coz they have to by g4tv's rules fit something that doesn't have to do with high end consoles into their show, once every month
they ignore alot of people who watch their show, and if they'd stop covering and hyping flops like lair (one of morgan webbs favorite games of e3 2007, 2 months later its bad after she loved it? really morgan?) fracture, and others and focus slighlty more on madworld, little kings story, zack & wiki, etc. maybe the wii wouldn't be perceived so poorly in hardcore gaming cirlces in the media, i mean i read an articel in play, i think it was, could've been another, anyway they were previewing cursed mountain, said it had promise and the prayer combat system sounded unique and original, BUT they literally said survival horror doesn't do good on Wii and would be better on others
WTF? SO RE4 and fatal frame 4 are bad now?
first of all x play is a load of **** that finds ways to give wii games low scores even if most web sites and user reviews like give a game 7 out of 10 they find reasons to give game a 2 out of 5just to let you know, X-Play gave this game a 2 out of 5
and there is no extra stuff that isnt in the Gamecube version, so if you already have the GC version, this game is a pass

Ok, I'm not exactly thrilled that this will be a direct port from GC to Wii with new controls.
But, people here talking about the controls being bad without playing the game OR even having a credible review to back it up.
C'mon, that's silly.
I might get this one... and maybe Mario Golf, but mostly because there aren't really good Wii versions of those games (with or without Mario).

In the case of Mario Tennis, they seemed to make pretty solid points justifying the score for the game.

Yeah, X-Play actually did a pretty good job with the review and brought up a lot of great points that justified a 2 out of 5! After reading their review I expect IGN and Gamespot to follow and bash this game criticaly!
