I'm gonna be getting a 3ds around early July, and I can only afford one game.

I've played Oot twice on the N64 and WiiVC but never even got close to beating the game, So I'm thinking it would be a great time to actually play through the game.

Also, Resident Evil Mercenaries sounds great, And I loved it in both Re4 and Re5.

The only thing keeping me away from it, is that it will probably get repetitive quick..

Also feel free to give details about other games you have and enjoy.

From what I read in this months Official Nintendo mag, both games are excellent (Zelda: 98% Resi: 85%) though they said the longevity of Mercenaries is dependant on whether you are addicted to improving high scores. Like you I haven't ever finished OoT (in fact I've only ever seen the first 5 minutes) so OoT is a definate buy for me, while I'll probably rent Mercs to get my Resi fix, play the revelations demo, etc and save a bit of money :)

Eldav0 is right. If you love resident evil mostly for it's action, and enjoy beating high scores, the go with Mercs 3D. If you're more of an action-adventure person, or want a really long game, go with Ocarina 3D. Really, you can't go wrong either way.

Oh really? That's cool. I probably only got through an hour of Oot. In a way it's bad that we hardly played Oot, But with the remake it's a great oppurtunity for us to play through it fully.

Yea, Mercenaries looks cool but it's basically a Mini game..

Well, Thanks for your opinion and advice. :)

Yea, I want a really long and deep game.

Sooo, I think I will probably go with Oot, but maybe buy Mercenaries used later or something.

Thanks for your opinion

I reccomend OOT. If you really want to play mercenaries you can buy Resident evil 5 and get the full game AND mercenaries all for $20 bucks.

Not a problem :) I've been having the same dilema recently so... lol, believe me I feel ashamed I haven't ever played OoT but Inever got a N64 as a kid so I missed out on a lot of good games, something I am slowly putting right when the games are re-released onXBL, DS, etc;)

zelda, im waiting for the REAL Resident evil game "revelations" coming out later his year. I have zero interest in Merceneraries. You should only consider mercenaries if you enjoyed those modes in RE4 and RE5.

If you never beat Zelda before is it worth risking buying the game again, it might just collect dust again. i would personally choose OoT but i picked Mercenaries for you on this basis.

Yea, Revalations looks really amazing..

Looks like their going back towards the survival horror style.

Check out this 10min video of Revalations.

Well, Yea. There aren't any great 3ds games out yet, and I've only played through about an hour of the original Oot.

Yeaaa, it just seems risky to buy Mercenaries since i'll only have one game. It would be great if I had that and another game because Mercenaries is basically a mini game. But I understand what your saying, Thanks.

My answer will be bias since I love anything that involves shooting the living dead. I would say go with resident evil. But if you are looking for game with tough puzzles and takes a while to beat the game then go with Zelda OOT:

This is better suited for the 3DS Recommendation Thread.

Please keep it there in the future.

Thanks.
