Isn't that what ratings boards are for?
GTA games are rated M, so parents can't complain if they let their kids play it.

The violence in Manhunt is a bit more serious than GTA.I freaking hate all the idiots in the world. There is absolutely no reason any GTA game should cause controversey no matter what console it's released on. Are parents really so stupid as to buy their kid a game clearly labeled M for mature? Do they even read the content descriptors on the back of the case? It's too bad common sense is becoming more rare every day. The only reason this controversy exists is because so many parents are being lazy and irresponsible and doing absolutely no research concerning the content of what they let their children hear, watch, and play.
During my childhood my parents were strict concerning what games I could play and as both my age and maturity increased, their strictness decreased. And I am extremely thankful that they raised me this way. I continually grow weary of the ever increasing desensitization of society to the promotion of subjects such as violence and sex, especially among today's youth. Heck, you can't even turn on the local news anymore without hearing about the latest rapist or murderer.
I'm not trying to say that playing games like GTA causes people to commit these crimes, but rather society's desensitization to the subjects portrayed within them, which is caused by kids being exposed to these acts before they have reached a level of maturity with which they can handle them.
lol, sorry for the rant.

The reason is because parents, these days, expect television and games to raise their children while they go on a break from parenthood. They appease the kiddies who cry so they can play games rated M game. Then when their kid starts cussing because the heard Niko Belic curse, the parents are too ashamed to take personal responsibilty. It'd be easier to blame someone else, than admit you made a mistake as a parent.

yeah cause parents have never done anything stupid like that in the past.
Theres no real way to tell how overyone would take the releese of a GTA on the wii i just know that now near election time is the wrong time to do it. All it would take was one story in a major news outlet and it could become a new debating poiting point. If the game is being made it would be best not to announce it untill next year
apparently Gears of War 2 will have some kind of filter to control the level of violence and language, so that the game is more accesible to a wider audience. I havent read up on this myself yet, this is just what I have heard.SepewrathYeah. I think the speach is going to be sensored, and the blood will be replaced with sparks.
Of course, it's all optional
yeah. and i laugh when all my friends say that the wii doesn't have games that have gore.
I really dont see why the TC would think GTA Wii would be a controversy. Australias govt just sucks

[QUOTE="santanablu3"]yeah. and i laugh when all my friends say that the wii doesn't have games that have gore.Raiko101I'd laugh at them if that was their only concern. sadly it is.. all of them are blinded by the levitating ps3 that plays nothing but blue ray dvd's and has O so much games that the 360 doesn't have. also they all say the wii are only for kids who have lots of party's some BS like that.(sad world isn't it) but seriously i wouldn't doubt seeing a GTA game coming out for the wii.. just look at the DS..

to make parents happy they could rate it "M" and then not buy it for there kids.[QUOTE="Raiko101"][QUOTE="santanablu3"]yeah. and i laugh when all my friends say that the wii doesn't have games that have gore.santanablu3I'd laugh at them if that was their only concern. sadly it is.. all of them are blinded by the levitating ps3 that plays nothing but blue ray dvd's and has O so much games that the 360 doesn't have. also they all say the wii are only for kids who have lots of party's some BS like that.(sad world isn't it) but seriously i wouldn't doubt seeing a GTA game coming out for the wii.. just look at the DS.. I don't know. I mean if games like Conduit sell well enough, it'll prove the market will bise there to make the sales. Success with GTA on the DS could also influence things.
