What do you want us to say Gamespot scored it the same way. Nothing to say about perfection.

I like how IGN reviews the VC games better than Gamespot. Games should be viewed like movies, music, and books. Just because Superman Returns has better effects and sound doesn't mean its better than the original movie. Same with everything else, just because something ages doesn't mean it loses quality.

10 is ridiculous! IGN gave the graphics a 9. That's absurd! If this was a retail game, would you honestly look at those graphics and say "Wow, this game looks amazing"? Hell no! You'd be more likely to say "This game looks like crap", return it, and buy another game. What's the point of reviewing it again if you're just going to give it the exact same score you gave it originally? It's not 1998 anymore, IGN.

[QUOTE="ShakeNBake1491"]IGN reviews games based on how it did when it was fresh. GS reviews them by today's standards.. don't be surprised if they give it an 8.5 or even lower.

todays standards are not what the virtual console is about it's about how great a game was in teh days when it was released, which this was unbeatable and also, by todays standards the game is still great, because games have advanced in technology games like this really show you how little it affects it, this game is amazingly fun and still has a brilliant story line and is told superbly

Gamespot judge a game on its technical achievements, they don't take actual fun and enjoyment of playing the game or lasting emotional effects the games have, like how you'll love it for the next 10 years. They don't care if a games fun or not, the best games ever to them are just the technically great simulators. OoT is a 10/10 game but its not high end any more so it will probably get an 8-9 from GS. When it came out luckily it was the best visuals, level and enemy design and music around so it go a perfect score.

Not really, even if we are in 2007, you have to admit that the game was amazing. Even graphically it was amazing even though the graphics in games today are a lot better. And to clear up ur ignorance, this game WAS a retail game when it came out in '98...

The only thing I can agree with u is why would they review the game when it was reviewed years ago.

OoT on the VC looks great, sounds great and plays perfectly.  I played the original back on the N64, and its still a great game.  However, I must side with the Twilight Princess fans.  OoT was the original 3d Zelda, but TP has much tighter controls and a better camera system.  TP's environments are larger and give you a lot more to explore.  Also, Midna is nowhere near as annoying as Navi. But both are Zelda games, and therefore are freaking awesome...I've yet to experience a bad, or even nearly good, Zelda game. Wii is the ultimate Zelda platform...Zelda1, LttP, OoT, Wind Waker, and TP!jaycromer12
agreed. IMO Tp is basically a bigger, better OOT with a couple of twists of it's own. I dare you to find one character in OOT that had the personallity and depth of Midna!.....Or the crazy'ness of Zant for that matter....

I guess they base it off of what it achieved and how it changed the industry, and not by today's standards.
I think GS will give it an 8.5/10

I'm not denying that it was and still is an amazing game. But I don't feel it's still worth a ten.
